Aunt Lauren nervously handed Xavier a cup of warm tea. I had told her we were just at the coffee shop but, she insisted we have a cup. Her unofficial life motto is “Problems dissolve with with our empty tea cup” which is why I rolled my eyes at her as she handed me the cup. I know I should just be grateful for my aunt, but she wasn't around much when I was a kid. She told my mother to grow up and take responsibly for her kid. Yeah, after that, I hadn't seen her much afterward.

“You said your name was...?” My aunt directed the question toward Xavier.

“Xavier,” He flashed his pearly white smile, showing his cute dimples.

I'll admit, he was good looking. Okay, okay he was better than good looking. He was quite handsome.

“So Xavier, I know the truth and I also know my niece is not one to believe in magic,” My aunt sipped her green tea and smiled.

Despite my head telling me to say something rude, I stayed quiet and waited for him to talk.

“The Dark One wants the humans gone, plain and simple. If he can go back in time and disrupt the balance of the earth, than he can destroy planet earth.” He stated and stared at his shoes.

“But then he wouldn't have a place to live?” I asked and looked at Mitzi, my aunt's cat.

“His army and him, along with all the time travelers, live in a vortex that leads to a different world.”

“I just need some proof,” I whispered and stared into his spectacular eyes.

Xavier wore a serious grin. “Just think of me.”

I was completely shocked as how he told me to think of him. Like he's most definitely the first person on my mind, yeah right. Despite his forwardness, I thought of him. Xavier has the cutest smile and the sexiest purple eyes. Although I just met him, I can tell he doesn't like to argue or raise his voice. His hair looks like he didn't touch it but it doesn't necessary look messy.

The necklace started to glow the familiar bluish tint. I opened my eyes and saw Xavier staring at me.

“Now, think 'Wishful Falls' in your head and keep repeating it.”

Wishful Falls, Wishful Falls, Wishful Falls, Wishful Falls, Wishful Falls, Wishful Falls

My eyes fluttered open again and this time, Xavier was pulling me into a tight hug. “Close your eyes,” He whispered.

I did as I was told until I felt his gently tap my shoulder. “Open them.”

The view was just gorgeous. I stood on a castle balcony and below I spotted a waterfall. The water, however, was not like any water I have seen. The water was magenta instead of blue. It was not full of pollution over decades and it was not full of trash. The surrounding area was beautiful. For once in my life, I was speechless.

“What do you think?” Xavier pushed the stray hair out of my face and turned away. “This is my home, our home.”

Instead of arguing about some complete irrelevant nonsense, I stayed silent. I've never meant anyone that could do that to me, make me completely and utterlessly speechless.

I thought about the things I've heard and what Hollywood has taught me. “You're not like a vampire, are you? You can't read my mind or control my thoughts, right?”

He broke out into a hysterical fit. “I'm 100% positive that I'm not a vampire but, you can see for yourself if you don't believe me.”

I shrugged, suddenly feeling regret for asking such an absurd question. Xavier lightly brushed against my shoulder and chills ran down my spine. “Come, now. The kingdom is anxious to met their new queen.”

“What?” I asked, already completely understanding what he was about to tell me. I'm not exactly stupid and I put the missing pieces of the puzzle in. “Let me just guess first. My mother was the cliched queen and now, I'm the next queen in line, right?”

“You cease to amaze me Victoria. You are correct,” Xavier turned and faced two giant, glass doors. “Ready?”

“As ready as a time traveler slash queen can get,” I smiled as I followed him through the doors.

The room was quite spectacular. Everything looked so grand and fancier than everything on Earth.

“Ah Miss. Adams! Welcome to Wishful Falls! I'm sure you have just a few questions!” A beautiful woman with long, luscious golden hair stepped forward and faced me.

“Actually, I have a little more than just a few but, I have no clue where to begin.”
