Ed and I were still on the train. We'd only been on it for at least half an hour but it still felt like it had been ages.

Suddenly, the train stopped.

'Hey (Y/n) it's time to get up.' Came a gentle voice in my head.

My eyes slowly drifted open to see a smiling face hovering above mine. I smiled back. Our hands never stopped holding each other, even when we were getting off, we were still holding them.

"Well what is this Edward Elric and (Y/N) Mustang are together! This can simply not be!" A loud voice came behind us.

"Oh hey Armstrong no time, no see." Edward said surprised to see him.

"Hello Armstrong, how are you?" I asked quietly.

"Well I'm doing just fine. In fact I'm here to pick you two up."

"Ehh!" Ed and myself said in sync.

"After I got a call from young Alphonse, I could not say no to his request of picking you two up and taking you to your father." He said directly to me.

"Hey I'm here too!" Ed stated after realising that Armstrong was only answering and talking to me.

He started to laugh.

"And so you are young alchemist, so shall we set off on our journey!" He stated more than asked.

And with all this said, Ed, Armstrong and myself were on our way to see my dad.

(Time skip)

We stood outside of his office doot. I went up to it and knocked three times, then a pause, then another three knocks. This was our secret way of saying that it was me at the door.

On the other side of the door you could hear some rustling of papers than a loud bang!

The door slowly opened revealing a man who had his hair poking out of every possible direction, he had his jacket off revealing a white top that layed underneath the jacket and his face looked like it needed some well deserved sleep.

I sighed at his appearance. I froze him and walked to the water fountain. Ed and Armstrong gave me a confusing look. I just ignored them as I got a cup full of freezing cold water. I then walked back up to the frozen man.

Armstrong and Ed had finally gotten the clue of what I was doing, so they moved out if the way.

I flung the water so it all splashed over him. I then unfroze him. He seemed to of woken up. He then noticed that I wasn't the only one here. He quickly slammed the door and as quick as it closed it opened.

Now revealing a man, who actually looked presentable.

Well that's better.

We walked into his office.

"So what can I do for you?" He asked.

"Umm,dad? When you were with mum, did you hear anything peculiar? I don't know her thoughts perhaps?" I asked him.

His eyes widened.

"You mean you can hear somebody's thoughts! Who is it?" He asked angrily.

"Um, Edward can."

He started to get suddenly close to Edward.

"Why you? Why did you have to be her soul mate?"

Wait!

"Soul mate!?" Ed and myself shouted at the same time.

"Yes, Soul mate, you heard correctly. Your mother didn't tell you about this I guess?"

I shook my head.

"Ugh, your mother said that she would leave me to do the most grown up thing. Well I guess I have no choice. When someone with your curse finds their soul mate they can hear each other's thoughts."

"We already know that Mustang!" Edward chiped in.

He just sighed.

"The only way the soul mates can hear each other's thoughts is if they kiss. Which I'm guessing you've already done." He said this so bluntly, but was glaring right at Edward.

I decided that we had to go.

"Well I guess we've over stayed our visit, bye."

I grabbed Edward's hand and we left the office.

We were now in the middle of some Street in the middle of central.

"So should we go to an hotel for the night?" Ed asked.

"Sure,we'll go back to Al and Winry tomorrow."

(Time Skip)

Ed and myself were now inside a hotel room with one double bed. This was the only room left.

Too embarrassed to say anything, I quickly got in the bed on one side and stayed still.

I heard Ed chuckle quietly to himself and climbed into the other side.

"You know, since we're soul mates we'll probably end up being together for the rest of our lives, so you might as well get used to this sort of thing." Ed said this with such confidence it was beyond me.

"What do you mean 'probably'? Your stuck with me till the day I die." I told him back, still facing the other way.

I felt some movement behind me, with an arm wrapping itself around my waist, dragging me closer to his body.

"Yeah I know." I knew Ed had a smile on his face. I swiftly turned around to face him. Yep! A smile was there.

I smiled back. I then started to snuggle into his arms and fell asleep.

'Well today's been a busy one, we've found out we're soul mates thanks to my curse. I wonder what troubles lie ahead for us now and into the future?'

That was my final thought.

'Well whatever is there we'll face it together.'

Ed then fell asleep peacefully.

No matter what happens we'll look out for each other. Isn't that what you do when you find somebody to love?

But what happened next in our lives was uncalled for. I knew I wouldn't be able to stay with him. A crying new born child in Ed's arms and me not being able to be with him.

That's when I realised something. Something that can be true and something that can also be prevented.
