I woke up the next morning, determined to find Ali's murderer. I slowly got out of my bed and drew the curtains, letting the amazing sunlight in.

I walked into my bathroom, brushed my teeth and had a shower. I put on a simple pair of black skinny jeans and a white linkin park t-shirt.

I walked downstairs to the dining room where my whole family was eating breakfast. I sat down on a chair next to my brother and poured myself a glass of orange juice. Everyone was extremely quiet. It was kinda creepy.

"Why is everyone so quiet?" I asked. I got a couple of nothings as an answer. Something was definitely up.

"Okay fine, don't tell me." I said. Nobody told me anything. I stomped out of my room.

"Wait." Tyler stopped me from exiting the room.

"What?" I said turning around to face him.

"You know how you applied for Yale." He said hesitantly.

"So?" I snapped.

"Well....Your acceptance letter came by today and........" he drifted off.

"Oh my god,Tyler,speak."

"Youdidntgetin." he said quickly.

"Can you say that slower."

"You didn't get in." My heart broke. I had worked my butt of to get in Yale. I was about to burst into tears, but tried to keep a strong front.

"It's ok. I'll reapply next year. Hopefully, I'll get in then." I walked up to my room choking my tears in.

After I locked myself in my room, I thought about my 'amazing' life. My best friend is dead and I'm not going to college. Wow! I have the best life ever, don't I?

I picked up my phone and called  Lyndsey. It's about time I asked her what she knows about Alison's murderer. She picked up her phone after the second ring.

"Hello."

"Hey Lyndsey. It's me Carter."

"Hey. What's up?"

"I need your help."

"I'm at your service."

"So, you know how you found Alison's body."

"Yeah. I don't really like to talk about it."

"I'm really sorry, but did you see a man, possibly in his twenties in school that day."

"I did. Why?"

"That dude is Ali's murderer." She became completely silent.

"I only saw his back. The only thing I know about him is that he has black hair."

"Wait a minute. The man had dropped something when he slipped in the hallway. Something like a card. I didn't know what to do, so I picked it up. It had some sort of  weird logo on it. I didn't know what it meant so I put it in my locker." She said and she hung up.

I guess that's my next clue.
