I hide behind a trash can as he turns around once again. My breaths are heavy know.
If I get found. I'm a dead man.

I stay still until I hear him continue to jog again. I get up and start following him again. He starts jogging faster, and I pick up my pace as well. As soon as he whips his head around, I turn the corner and pray to God that he doesn't find me.

He looks around and hops into a black, busted up pickup truck on the side of the rode. The car rumbles as it turns on and he drives away at a slow speed; thank god. I look around because I can't run forever.

I sprint across the street, nearly getting hit by the car. The driver yells and keeps driving. I grab the blue bicycle and start peddling hard. The jacked up car is still in view, and turns right.

I'm now in the middle of the street, not caring that I just got suspended. Not caring I was just in a fight and my mouth is stained with blood. Not caring that I just stole a bike.

A dirt path nears, and Louis turns and I hear the pieces of dirt and stone getting stuck in the rotating tires. The forest surrounds us but still lets in the sunshine.

The road goes on for another mile and a half before the car stops by a river. I chuck the bike into the bush and dive behind a tree. I hear the ignition come to a stop, and hear a door slam. The rocks on the road allow me to hear his footsteps.

They become louder and louder and I crunch into a ball at the base of the tree. He peers around the trees and starts smiling wide. I'm confused, he flicked me off the last time we talked and now he's so happy. He extends his hand out to me.

Though it is covered with dry blood, I take it and he helps me up. I flinch because the pain in my side has not gone unnoticed.
"You okay?" He asks

"Yeah..... Just got kicked in the ribs 10 times that's all." I say the last part sarcastically and he laughs. He still has my hand and his and he starts walking to the river. The river has huge boulders all around it and we jump on the tops of the rocks until we get to the center of the
river.

He looks up, and I just watch him.
He finally speaks up, "so, did you enjoy stalking me?" He asks.

"Actually I did. I'm pretty sure I stole a little girls bike, and I almost got hit by a car" I say laughing. He lifts his hand up and taps my cheek. "Those dimples. They're cute on you. You should make them stay there more often" he says and pulls his hand away.

My cheeks grow red and I can't help but smile even more. "See" he says, and smiles.
"Your laugh," I say," it's cute, you should laugh more often" I say smiling
We just sit there smiling, never leaving each others eyes.

"So when did you find this?" I ask, looking around. There is the river with boulders, and up some 300 feet above, is a bridge.

"I was just... Uh walking around one day, on the bridge above.. And It looked like a cool place from up there so I found a way to get down here" he says, nodding his head as if making himself believe what he just said.

Except something was missing from that. A sense of certainty maybe? Either way, I could tell right away that he was forgetting some part of the story, but I didn't know what part he didn't include.

"What," he says. I freeze, realizing that I've been staring at him for quite a while.

"Nothing," I say, and then look at the flowing river. I grab his hand, but he doesn't pull back. I look him straight in the eye "I never thanked you for saving me back there."

"There's no need to. I'll always protects you. Always."
