Travis:
I stood in front of their door. I rang the doorbell once. But nobody came. (My Undertale reference though 😏) I rang the doorbell one more time. Then finally, I heard her voice. "I'm coming! I'm coming!" She yelled, a hint of annoyance in her voice. I laughed quietly.
"Geez... Why do people have to be so impatient?" I heard her mutter. I smirked. The door opened and I saw her. Katelyn stood in front of me with a happy look on her face. "Oh." She muttered, frowning. "It's just you." I raised an eyebrow.
"Were you expecting someone?" I asked, eyeing her. Katelyn rolled her eyes. "Obviously." She mumbled. Heh. She looked quite cute as Captain Obvious. "Anyways..." I began, my eyes roaming all over the place. "I was wondering if you wanted to go to the park or something."
Katelyn raised an eyebrow. "Is this a date?" She asked suspiciously.
"It could be if you wanted it to be." I said, winking at her.
"Umm... No thank you." Katelyn rejected. "Besides, don't you wanna ask Aphmau on a date or something? Guys usually find her very pretty and stuff." I smiled. "Well, you're pretty too." I blurted out. My eyes grew wide when I realized what I said.
Dammit, Travis. Dammit.
"What did you say?" Katelyn asked, raising a brow. I shook my head quickly. "Nothing." I said, smiling innocently. Katelyn rolled her eyes. "Anyways... I guess you can hang out at my house if you want or..." She suggested. I nodded quickly.
"S-sure. That would be great." I replied. Katelyn smiled. It was a sort of a small smile, but I could definitely tell it was one. Her smile disappeared and she moved aside. "Oh right, come in." She said, gesturing inside. I nodded and stepped inside.
Katelyn closed the door after me. "So... Wanna watch TV?" She asked. I felt a bit awkward. I nodded slightly. Katelyn walked over to the living room. She grabbed the TV remote on the coffee table in front of the couch.
Then she switched on the TV. She turned to me and smiled. "You can sit down if you want, or you can just stand there like an idiot all day, then I'm fine with that too." Katelyn laughed. The corner of my lips tugged up a bit.
I rolled my eyes and walked over to her. "I'm not an idiot, Katelyn." I said, wiggling my eyebrows. "I'm a handsome one." Katelyn rolled her eyes, smiling. I grinned. Then I sat down on the couch.
"Make yourself at home. I'll-I'll just be upstairs." Katelyn said blankly. I turned to her. But she already left and went up the stairs. My smile faded. I turned back to the TV. She seemed... different.
What was wrong with her?
I stood up and went up the staircase steps. I looked at the four doors in front of me. I walked over to the first door. I opened it and saw a pink room. It must be Kawaii~Chan's. I opened the second one and realized it was just a bathroom. I turned the third door's doorknob.
It was locked.
Katelyn's door.
I knocked on the door. "Hey Katelyn!" I called. The door slowly opened and I saw Katelyn standing in front of me. "What do you want?" She asked coldly. I remained silent. One moment she seemed so happy, then the next...
She wasn't.
Katelyn didn't wait for an answer. She was about to shut the door in my face, but I quickly grabbed her hand that was laying by her side. She froze. And so did I. She looked down at my hand clutching her hand, then she looked back at me. A blush crept up her face.
I could feel my cheeks flush crimson. "What did I tell you about holding other people's hands?" She growled, glaring at me. I let go of her hand, blushing furiously. "I- uh... I just..." I stuttered.
I didn't know why I felt this way. Usually, I'd act very confident in front of girls. But now, I wasn't. Katelyn smiled a bit. "You look cute when you're nervous." She muttered, mostly to herself. I snapped back to my senses. "What?" I asked, unsure if I heard her correctly.
"N-nothing." She mumbled. I could see her cheeks flush a light shade of pink. "A-anyways, are you just going to stand there the whole day or are you going to come in?" Katelyn mocked, raising an eyebrow. I blinked my eyes in surprise. "Say what now?" I asked.
"Just come in, you dingus." Katelyn said, rolling her eyes. I shrugged my shoulders and stepped inside of her room. I looked around and noticed that the walls were painted a dark shade of blue. There were also some posters stuck onto the walls.
"I wouldn't have thought that someone like you would let me into their room." I murmured. Katelyn followed my gaze, her face straight. "Eh, I guess I just let other people in when I feel like it." She said. I nodded, still staring at her "The Beatles" poster.
"What do you mean by 'other'?" I asked her, raising an eyebrow. "I didn't think you'd bring someone else to your room." Katelyn laughed. "Oh, then you thought wrong." She said. "I sometimes bring my friend Jeffory." Katelyn gritted her teeth at the word, "friend".
I remained silent for awhile. Katelyn was quiet too. "So," I said while sitting at the edge of Katelyn's bed, breaking the silence. "Do you have a boyfriend?" Katelyn looked at me. I couldn't read the expression on her face."No. But I did have one before..." Katelyn sighed. I listened intently.
"It was Jeffory."
My eyes grew wide. "Jeffory, your friend?!" I exclaimed, astonished. Katelyn glared at me. I laughed nervously. But then she looked back down. "We were dating back then during high school... But things didn't work out." Katelyn said, shrugging her shoulders. "We were better off as friends..."
I nodded. Katelyn looked at me in the eye. I noticed that her eyes were starting to get puffy. "C-can we just not talk about it?" She managed to mumble. I looked at her. "Okay..." I replied. Katelyn forcefully smiled. Then she sat down on her bed, next to me.
There was a comfortable silence. I looked down to my side and saw Katelyn's hand, laying on the bed. I looked over to my hand that was on my lap. I decided to put it by my side. Katelyn closed her eyes and sighed. "Don't even think of it, Travis." She warned.
I sighed and put my hand back on my lap.
A/N:
Yay! A long chapter again! Yay! It wasn't meant to be a long one, but I decided to make it long because it wouldn't fit if I continued this in the next chapter. So, yeah.
Anyways,
BYEEE!!
