Katelyn:
I decided to finally text Travis. It was midnight. I was sure nobody was awake at this time. But for sure, Travis would be. Right? I held my phone firmly in my hands.
***
Hi Travis
Hey Katelyn! What are you doing so late at night?
I just wanted to ask you something.
...?
You remember I told you earlier at the park that I'll think about it, right?
You mean about the date?
Yeah, silly
Oh, um yeah
Yes. I would like to go on a date to you.
***
It said that my message was read. I took a deep breath. It's alright, Katelyn. I thought to myself. Everything will be alright. I chuckled softly at the thought. I'm such an awful liar. I laughed again. Suddenly, my phone buzzed and a notification popped up. I smiled at the reply Travis sent me.
"I cannot believe it, Katelyn! Oh, I'm so happy! For a moment there I thought you were going to
reject me. Thanks. <3"A heart. How cute. I smiled as I typed in a heart too.
{A few days latte...} 😏
Travis:
I waited patiently at their front porch, a flower in hand. I knew she'd probably think I was being cheesy or whatever, but I just find it as a way to impress the lady. (*casanova wink*) I rang the doorbell. But no one replied. I decided to ring the doorbell again. Finally, a familiar voice replied.
"Be patient, Travis, you idiot! I won't take too long." Katelyn yelled at me through the door. A grin crept up my face. The thing I liked about her was the fact she wasn't afraid to call me something insulting even during something special. Like this date. Special.
I smiled at the thought. Suddenly, the door slowly opened and standing in front of me was Katelyn, in a baby blue dress. It didn't look too formal nor too casual. It was just right. I fixed up my green polo shirt (sort of like Garroth's) and handed her the flower. She took it and smiled.
"T-thanks..." She muttered, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. "You look beautiful, Katelyn." I complimented her, winking. She rolled her eyes and looked away, a smile still on her face. I smiled too. Katelyn turned back to me. "Are we going now or are we going to spend all night here?" She said, raising an eyebrow.
I suddenly realized we were on a date. "Oh- uh... Right!" I exclaimed. I stepped aside and gestured for Katelyn to go down the porch first. "Ladies first." I flashed her a smirk. Katelyn rolled her eyes and stepped down the porch. I followed after her. "So, where are we going?" Katelyn asked. I nodded towards our right.
"Over there, to the same restaurant we were on the double-d." I said. Katelyn nodded and we started walking towards our right.
...Later...
I sat across Katelyn, who was sitting down in the booth. We got the table nearest to the window so we could see the night sky as pedestrians passed by and see the lamps that illuminated the streets. It was such a peaceful night. It was the perfect night to go on a date. I turned to Katelyn, who was still looking out the glass window.
She looked so beautiful. With her long blue hair and her eyes that matched with her hair. She turned back to me and raised an eyebrow. "Um... Travis, have you called a waiter already? I really wanna see the menu. I'm starving." Katelyn asked, interrupting my thoughts. I drowned in her beautiful blue eyes. "Travis?" I snapped back to reality.
"Oh- I, uh... Y-yeah, I'll do that right now." I replied nervously. I swallowed the lump in my throat and raised my hand. I tried getting a waiter's attention. A familiar waiter finally walked towards us. My eyes widened in surprise. "I-uh... Indie! H-hey there..." I stuttered nervously. Indie's eyes widened in shock.
"Travis! Hi..." She mumbled awkwardly. I gestured to Katelyn. "This is Katelyn." I introduced. Indie smiled and nodded. Then she looked at me and mouthed, "Is she your friend?". I nodded. Indie smiled and nodded. Then she took our orders.
...Later...
Our food finally arrived. Me and Katelyn ate in silence. Just like when we were waiting for our food. I glanced up at Katelyn and noticed she wasn't eating her food. Her chin rested on her hand, while the other one held a fork which was poking a meatball from the pasta she ordered. I raised an eyebrow.
"Are you all right...?" I asked, tilting my head slightly. Katelyn sighed and glanced at me then looked back down on her plate. "Yeah... I'm fine. Just not in the mood to eat." She mumbled, biting her lower lip. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Didn't you say awhile ago that you were starving?" Katelyn didn't reply.
She sighed again and put her fork down. Then she looked out the window. "I'm confused..." She trailed off. I frowned. "About what?" I asked. Katelyn looked at me with a nervous look on her face. "I-I... N-nothing!" She stuttered nervously. Then she quickly looked back out the window.
I sighed. I looked back down at my plate and continued eating my food.
