Liv and I were sitting on the edge of her bed on Thursday night, hugging and packing her suitcase. Mum had gone to bed earlier, and I had snuck into Liv's room to help her pack. She hadn't been able to do so earlier, obviously, as mum would have noticed. Thinking of mum noticing made me feel uneasy.
"Liv, are you sure you want to do this? I mean, what if something goes wrong? What if one of your friends find out?" A horrible thought suddenly came to mind. "What if your boyfriend tries to kiss me?"
Liv knew I was anxious about this, and I knew that part of her was worried too, but she simply stopped what she was doing, took my hands in hers, and said:
"Maddie. Yes, I am so very sure that I want to do this. And don't worry, nothing will go wrong, and my friends won't find out, I'm only going to be gone for the weekend." Then she looked away and let out a small laugh. "Plus, the whole kissing thing with Alec can be avoided if you just don't speak to him. Tell the girls you're playing and hard to get, and tell Alec you're hanging out with the girls all weekend. Nothing could happen wile I'm away, Maddie. Nothing can go wrong."
I let out a breath and nodded slowly, only feeling slightly comforted by her words.
"Liv?"
"Yeah?" She looked back at me.
"Don't die on me. Come home safe."
This time she laughed genuinely, and she said:
"Sheesh Maddie, dramatic much? You'd think I was going off to fight in a war rather than simply going for a weekend away."
I smiled at her weakly. I was so scared that something would happen to her, and also worried about me living her life.
"Oh yeah, Maddie, I made you something!" She suddenly said, whilst pulling something that looked suspiciously like a dead rabbit out of her closet.
"Umm... Thanks for the thought, but I think I'll be OK without it, whatever it is." I said.
"Oh come on, you are so gonna love this. Its a wig!! I know you won't have time to change hairstyles between classes, so I made you this. Its exactly my hairstyle."
"Oh Liv, thankyou! I hadn't even thought about that."
I snatched the wig off her and tried putting it on my head. But, I guess I did it wrong, because it fell off again. Liv just laughed at me, and showed me how to do it, a couple hundred times, until I eventually managed it. For the rest of the evening we finished her packing, and spent time talking about her weekend and what she would be doing.
The only problem was, she didn't tell me everything. She didn't even tell me half if it.

Sorry that this chapter is quite short. I wrote almost 500 words on this one, I just didn't have enough to make it any longer.
So.... What do you think Liv is up to? Comment your ideas! 😘
