I yawned and buried my face into my blanket, trying to escape the light that came from the sun rising over the black lake. Then it hit me. The black lake. I was at Hogwarts! I flipped over and laughed into my pillow before sitting up and staring out the window. The lake was as smooth as glass, save for one place in the middle where a large tentacle was lazily waving in the air. I giggled and gave a small wave back even though I knew that the squid couldn't see me. I jumped out of bed, curling my toes as I felt the coolness of the wood floors, and pulled the sheet and comforter back to the top of the bed. After pulling my curtains shut, I grabbed my uniform out of my trunk (deciding that I would unpack later) and went to the bathroom to change. I pulled my robes on over the skirt and blouse and tugged a brush through my hair before stepping out of the bathroom. The other girls were still asleep so I grabbed my book bag and exited the room, shutting the door softly behind me. I walked down the stairs to find he common room nearly empty, save for a group of fifth years and two third year girls. I plopped myself down on the couch and pulled out my new transfiguration book. I had just finished the third chapter when I felt someone sit down on the couch next to me. I smiled when I saw that it was James, his hair looking as if he hadn't bothered to brush it and his tie on crooked. "Good morning! Are you the only one awake?" I asked, shoving my book back into my bag.

"Yeah" he replied, "Shall we go and wake them up?"

I smirked, "Of course! After all, we said that we would wake them up before breakfast."
We sprinted up the stairs to the boys dormitories (apparently girls can go there but not vice versa.) and quietly slipped into their room. Remus who was sitting on the edge of his bed yawning, smiled and gave a little wave to us before grabbing his robes and ducking into the bathroom. James walked over to Peter and began prodding him with his wand, so I walked over to Sirius's bed and began poking the mountain of blankets that cocooned him. After about thirty seconds of this, I rolled my eyes and yanked the blankets away from his head and said, "Sirius Black, if you don't get up within the next ten seconds I am going to have to take drastic measures!"

He opened one eye a crack and glowered at me for a moment before muttering, "You can try." and burying his face into his pillow.

I glanced at James and Peter (who had woken up after sparks had shot out of James's wand, scaring him) before loudly counting "one, two, three, four, five. Well, you asked for it, Auguamenti!" A jet of water smacked right into Sirius's face. Sputtering, he jumped out of bed with a shout and turned to me with his hands in the air.

"Okay okay, I'm up!" He gasped. "Why do you even know that spell? HOW do you even know that spell?"

"I got bored and read our course books." I replied nonchalantly. "Now, I suggest that if you want to get to breakfast before all of the good food is gone, you should put your robes on and come downstairs." With that, I turned on my heel and walked back into the common room, ignoring the three laughing boys (and one sulking boy) behind me.

Twenty minutes later, the five of us had made our way into the dining hall, and had settled along the two benches of the Gryffindor table.
