Skylar J.

About a month later, we were called back to Toronto for the official competition.

They had put us all in one big house with Darren and I in the same room as another pair. There was a boy with dirty blonde hair, and blue eyes named Kyle and a girl with curly brown hair, brown eyes and fair skin. Her name was Elisa, and she was -to put it in the nicest way possible- a female dog, and we all know what I mean.

The next day, Darren and I were immediately pulled into rehearsals with all the other teams. Some of the rehearsals were just me and Darren and some were with all the other contestants.

On the first day of rehearsals, we were given three different options to sing, one of which was a high school musical song.

"We have to try this one," I said as a I practically shoved the papers into his face.

He slowly backed up and snatched the papers out of my hands. The second he saw the lyrics, his eyes got wide and a smile spread across his face.

"Do you remember this song?" he asked, a hopeful look in his eyes.

"Of course I do, it's from High School Musical," I said in a duh tone. I rolled my eyes at him.

"No, there's more to it than that."

I crossed my arms cross my chest and thought about it. I racked my brain for an answer. Where was this song from? What other importance did it have? Maybe it was something from when I was younger. Maybe I was too small to remember anything. Hmm.

Then it hit me. This was the first song that Darren and I had ever sang as a duet. No wonder I felt so attracted to this song.

I smiled and started singing the first line.

"Take my hand." I held my hand out towards his and he took my hand. "take a breath, pull me close, and take one step." I smiled as I looked into his brown eyes.

"Keep your eyes, locked on mine and let the music be your guide," I finished the first verse as he led me around the room.

"Won't you promise me?" he sang. "We'll keep dancing."

"Wherever we go next," we sang together. He twirled me around. "It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you. It's one in a million the chances of feeling the way we do. And with every step together we just keep on getting better."

"So can I have this dance?"

"Can I have this dance?"

"Take my hand, I'll take the lead, and every turn will be safe with me. Don't be afraid, afraid to fall. You know I'll catch you through it all. And you can't keep us apart, 'cause my heart is wherever you are."

"It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you. It's one in a million the chances of feeling the way we do. And with every step together we just keep on getting better."

"So can I have this dance?"

"Can I have this dance?"

"Oh, no mountain's too high and no ocean's too wide. 'Cause together or not, our dance won't stop. Let it rain, let it pour, what we have is worth fighting for. You know I believe we were meant to be."

"It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you. It's one in a million the chances of feeling the way we do. And with every step together we just keep on getting better."
