"Baby, I know." His words melted my insides at the worry and concern that was laced within them. He was th eonly boy who could break down the walls I built for myself after what happened to me.
"I.. I'm sorry I haven't let you in." I whispered, my tears starting to slow.
"It's okay, I know there is a reason behind it." He kept rubbing my back, and I knew it was time to tell him.
"There was this boy." I started, turning my head so my cheek rested on his chest, and so that he could me better. His chin rested on the top of my head and his arms were still securely wrapped around me. his chest vibrated with a deep laugh.
"It's always the boys, isn't it." I smiled at his comment.
"Anyway, there was this boy who was my best friend since we were in the womb. Andrew was his name. We always thought we were going to be friends forever. We started to date when we were 13, and thats when things started to get weird. We were so young, but I thought I was in love. You always remember your first one. Well, our relationship didn't last long, so we broke up. We stopped talking for a few monthes. But, we became best friends again. One night, when I was walking home from my normal walk, someone attacked me. I was right in front of Andrew's house, so he came out and saved me. I hate thinking about what would have happened if he wouldn't have been there. I trusted him with my life." Some tears formed in my eyes, but I pushed them away. Harry sensed my uncomfort, so he rubbed my back again. "Well, my trust in him was broken the night of prom. We went together as friends, but we split up once it was over. I was at a friends house when he showed up drunk at 3 AM. I decided to bring him home, so i pulled him into his car and drove him home. I knew his parents weren't home, so I brought him inside and layed him on his bed. I tried to leave, but he wouldn't let go of me. He kept saying how hot I looked and how much he loves me." My voice got a little shakey as I knew what was coming up. "I tried to get away, but he was so strong. Something came over him, and his eyes burned with lust and desire just like Chris's. He threw me on the bed and.." I couldn't say the word, but Harry knew. His gripped tightened around me.
"I'm so sorry Rikki." He whispered after a short amount of silence.
"I lost all of my trust for people after that. I had to act tough to feel stong because after that I felt so weak. It was so hard to recover from that because I couldn't tell anyone. Hell, he didn't even remember it. I had to act so normal around everyone, while on the inside I was so broken. I learned that the best thing to do was act tough, but the act soon became almost a reality. It's so hard to admit when I'm scared because I was so scared that night, and it brings back the bad memories. I had no one to save me this time; my hero was the villian."
"I totally understand. But you don't have to be tough for me. I'm here, and I'm going to protect you. I promise."
"That is exaclty what Andrew said the night he saved me the first time. Promise is a big word. I take those to heart. My heart was shattered after that happened." Harry was quiet for a minute.
"Well, the promise I am making to you is that I will do everything I can to keep you safe. I know that I might not succeed in keeping you 100% safe, but I will do everything I can." He pulled me away from him so he could look me dead in the eye as he said the words that gained my full trust in him. I never thought I would trust someone, let alone a guy, again. I don't know what came over me, but I took his face in my hands and placed a quick kiss filled with so much emotion. Harry was taken aback by the sudden impulse, and didn't have time to react, as I pulled away too quickly. I leaned my forehead on his, and enjoyed the moment.
"Thank you Harry, for everything. It means a lot to me." My eyes were closed, and my heart was racing due to the electricity that surged through me when our lips met. I felt the contact of his lips once again on me, but this time on my forehead. The electricity flowed through my veins like a new blood that I didn't know existed. He pulled back, and rested his forehead back on mine. I felt his warm breath on my face, and his gripped tighten around my arms where they now rested.
"Your welcome Rikki. You deserve it." He mumbled to me. I smiled more to myselft than Harry, and we stayed in that spot for a while. Everything was peaceful, and I felt like nothing could go wrong anymore. But, I should have knocked on wood because I totally jinxed the situation. The door opend to our dungeon, and in walked the lovely Chris. Harry and I pulled away from each other, and his arm protectively pushed me behind him. I placed my arms on his shoulders, and my fear of what laid ahead for me started to sink in.
"My dearest Rikki, the boys are ready for you." His smirk was pure evil, and his eyes burned with the same lust and desire as before. My breath hitched in my throat, and that's when Harry lunged.
