Alright, yes I know, I just came from a break and you aren't looking for an Author's Note, but this is important as it relates to me and every writer on this site.
First things first: If a writer doesn't write DO NOT QUESTION IT. If they want give details as to why, they will give details. But if they simply just do not write, don't ask them why! Because they may not want to tell you. It could be personal and they're uncomfortable with sharing, or it could simply be that they just need a break for reasons unknown.
Second! I find it extremely annoying when people beg for updates. Whether it be they want more, or are unhappy with the chapter length, it infuriates me to no end! Hey, at least you got an update to read! And you aren't the author, it's their book anyway!
Third; be kind and compassionate. I'm lucky enough to have great readers/fans that completely accepted my hiatus. Sure, they may have been a bit disappointed, but they were so nice! That's just one thing, another is mistakes in the writing. If the writer has made a mistake, punctuation, spelling, or otherwise, I'd make it a rule of thumb to either not point it out or be very kind when you do so.
I told you it was a mini-rant, and I meant it. Basically what I'm trying to get across is to not complain! If you get an update, whether it two pages or two hundred pages, be glad that the author took some time to make a chapter.
Bruce is on the way! When I publish his chapter, I'll delete this one.
