Yes I know kill me in the comments
°°°

Its been two years that you've been in the marines. A hardworking two years, however that's how you knew it'd be if you wanted to rise up in the ranks.

The first news of the day was Hina being promoted to rear admiral, many people ecstatic about the sudden promotion.

You on the other hand were trying to clean the rest of the dishes before the inspections began in the barracks.

You've had your room cleaned, your roommate making sure everything was in order and shiny new.

You both left feeling confident, knowing you'd pass with flying colors as you always did when it came to cleanliness.

That was until a booming voice spoke up from the crowd outside.

"Cadet L/n! Get out here now."
You recognized the voice of Kizaru, sighing as you placed the rest of the dishes down into the sink before you hesitantly walked from the kitchen.

"Come with me, your roommate has already been taken up with."

He lead you down until your bunk was well in sight, a strange smell uttering from inside.

"Explain to me why we found it in total chaos?"

You shook your head in disbelief, muttering curses to yourself.

You sigh.

"I don't know...we had it clean-"
"It doesn't seem clean to me."

You look at the floor as a crowd of the boys surrounded the two of you, watching intrigued.

"I know vice admiral but it was clean when I left it this morning, I don't know what could've happened. We haven't been in here since we've left and done our chores.."

A grunt was heard above you as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Your excuse is you don't know what happened to your room even though nobody else was able to get inside of it?"

You nod.

"What a wonderful excuse for you to tell Sakazuki hmm?"

You stop dead cold, the men around you coming to a standstill.

You were soon dragged to the office of Akainu, Kizaru patting you on the back as he knocked on the usually locked door.

"What?"
"We have a troublemaker here for you."

The door was swung open, standing in the doorway was Sakazuki Akainu, a frown permanent on his face.

"What is this Kizaru?"
"I told you we had a troublemaker, here she is."

He shoved you into him, crossing his arms as you stumbled into the surprisingly cold room.

"Kizaru-"

He was gone when he looked up however, a soft growl breaking through his sneering lips.

You sat on the couch that was positioned the farthest away from his desk, looking down into your lap as you awaited to be yelled at.

Instead of yelling however, Sakazuki made his way silently back to his desk, working on his paperwork a bit more before looking up at you.

"What exactly have you done, Cadet?"

You gulped and fiddled with the end of your shirt, looking up at him.

"You see sir what happened was, today was inspection day so me and my roommate made sure to make it nice and clean like we'd usually do...so what happened was that vice admiral Kizaru went to inspect it and he called me back to make me explain what happened and-"

"What had happened in the course of three hours of your absence?"

You swallowed hard and averted your eyes from his.

"Well what had happened was, the room was completely trashed and there was a strange smell that was coming out of the room. So he had asked me what happened-"

"And did you explain to him what had happened?"

You nod.

"Yes sir, I told him I didn't know what happened; because I don't know how somebody would be been able to get into the room and trash it without being seen..."

You watched his face turn to realization before he groaned loudly and leaned back in his creaking chair.

"S-sir?"

He waved you away and laid his head in his arms.

"There seems to be some kind of mistake l/n, you can go.."

You gulp and stand up shakily.
"Are you sure sir?"

He nods and waves you out, a blush prominent on your cheeks as you walked from his office and shut the door quietly behind you.

Strange..

Little did you know, Kizaru had gone in minutes prior and trashed the space.
What friendship.
