He was majestic. More so than others you would say. He was smooth as well, and that's exactly why'd you'd fallen for him.

And he had gently picked you up.

Yes, you had literally fallen for the damn fire bird, because at this point in time, you were all gathered around playing a drunken game of truth or dare. And guess who had chosen dare.

Idiot.

All was well though, as long as he was there you knew he'd help you back up from whatever dumb dare that the crew asked you.

Like the current one.

They dared a drunk you to climb all the way up to the crows nest, and all the way back down. Without falling of course.

To say it was high up was a bit of an understatement. Looking at it sober made you dizzy, but no harm done right? Just a dare. A measly little dare.

So, you started across the deck, slowly towards the tall wooden pole.
You looked back at Marco and he gave you a thumbs up.

He was sober, of course. He knew you'd get into something like this eventually tonight, its just how you were. Risk taker more to say in his perspective. But he loved you none the less, you were his own little lovebird.

His eyes watched as you grabbed the first handle and pushed yourself to the other, and so on and so forth.

And sooner than he thought you had reached almost halfway.

That's when you had started to falter, your hands started shaking, your legs becoming weaker with every push up you gave, his eyes never wavered from your figure.

And he glad it didn't.

You lost your grip along the way, your shriek cracking through the air.

But as always, he was there to swoop in and save you.

He quite literally waited for you at the bottom and caught you with ease as you clung to his neck, your head buried in his chest, shivering and tears slipping from your eyes.

"Y/n its alright, I have you."

You nodded still shivering, tears spilling from your e/c eyes.
His hands ran through your h/c hair and he wiped the tears away as he kissed the top of your head.

"Th-thank you Marco...i-i'm sorry.."

He merely sighed in reply, resting his head on top of yours, letting you cry softly into his neck.

"Y/n, its fine...you're still here with me, just don't drink anymore and you'll be alright love."

He smiled softly, rubbing your back with a warm hand.

You looked up at him, your eyes still glazed with old tears. His lips curled into a smile, making one appear on your face as well.

That was another thing about him, you couldn't stay sad for long, he'd always find a way to cheer you up somehow. Just being around him made you happy.

"Okay.."

You appeased his wish as the two of you walked back to the large group of people, all looking down in guilt.

"Now," Marco spoke sternly at the group of men, casting a glance at each "What do you have to say to her?"

A long chorus of 'sorrys' filled the night air as you sat down in Marco's lap.

"Thanks pineapple turkey."

You giggled softly as you felt the grip on your waist tighten as his arms tensed.

"Don't call me that..."

He turned you around with a small pout, suddenly peppering your face with kisses, leaving you in a giggling and blushing mess.

The night had gone by quickly, everyone made their way back to the cabins or wobbled to the kitchen where Thatch was surprisingly up, making a small breakfast.

"I knew a few of you wouldn't go right to bed, so I made some food to help fight off some of that hangover you'll have tomorrow."

Everyone thanked him in unison as plates of food were passed around, as well as water.

Thatch sat on the opposite side of you, as Marco planted on the other side.

"I heard your scream, I nearly ran out there to get you."

His face was shadowed with worry as he smiled softly down at you.
You glanced up at him as you took a bite of a muffin.

"Y-yeah....I'm alright though... thanks for worrying Thatch.."

You smiled slightly as he pats your back and stands. You sigh and faceplant on the wooden table.

Marco and a few others stared at you.
"Lovey bird what's wrong?"

You cracked a small smile at the nickname, and looked up at him with a grin.

"I'm sorry for acting so stupid, I shouldn't have done that.."

"You were intoxicated, you didn't do it on purpose....well in a sense you did, but I know you'd never do something like that sober."

He chuckled, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and leaning his head onto yours.

A small chorus of 'awws' filled the room.

Ace spoke up from his spot at the table.

"So...when's the wedding?"

You shot him a look. As did Marco.

"Shut up firefist."
