Still Dan's pov

As soon as we step off the train, I see a huge difference in surroundings. Not only the people but the different roads, shops and even sky.

"Hey Dan, I really hope you like it here. I'm happy you will finally be happy" my dad says pulling into a hug.

"Thanks dad" I say pulling my beanie off revealing my brown ears and curly hair.

"Well, see you at Christmas I guess, I'm going to miss you" dad says before smiling one last time and heading towards his train back.

I bring out my phone and order taxi as I am standing around with five huge bags of items. I have them stacked and on a trolley, just in case.

I see my taxi arrive and take my things to it, the drive getting out to help me. She's a middle aged woman but still looks rather young, with bright brown hair and dark eyes, along with ears and a tail like me. I sit in the back seat and tell her the address.

We drive for about half an hour, talking about why I moved here and how she gets around town. I listened closely on instructions on how to get from place to place.

"Here we are Dan, that will be £10 even, thank you and good luck" she yells out the window and I flash her a bright smile.

I walk up to the front door, my bags beside me, knocking in it a few times before I hear light footsteps in the quiet house. I shake my body round to stop the nervousness. I hear the door unlatch and see a beautiful, happy, glowing woman in front of me.

"Mum?" I ask happily.

"Dan!" She says leaping at me and into a hug.

"I never thought I would actually get to see you mum" I say snuggling into her shoulder and she sighs happily.

"I'll help with your bags and then we can have dessert before we head off to bed" she say carrying two of my bags upstairs.

I walk into a large bedroom and smile to myself, it was just how my dad described in the train. With bright Galaxy walls, a black desk, grey bed and dark furniture, it's exactly what I want.

Mum places my things down and smiles widely at me before leaving me to unpack. I'm about halfway done before I notice someone sitting at the window opposite mine.

The first thing I notice about them is their brown hair that also red and blonde through it, that is braided down their back. She's wearing a black shirt with a collar, a pair of grey jeans with holes in the knee and a blue flower crown.

She turns to me and smiles with bright teeth and waves. I wave back and slowly walk to the window.

"Hi" I say sticking my head out my window.

"Hey, I heard Clair was having his son move in with her" she says in an Australian accent.

"Yep, that's me, Dan Howell" I say reaching out my hand for her to shake.

"The names Maddi, aren't you that new kid at the academy?" She says shaking me hand.

"Did the news spread that quickly?" I ask rolling my eyes.

"Well, your friends, Chris and pj, are rushing around trying to find you a room" she says.

"What about you?" I ask her.

"I prefer to live with my parents, no other reason, just like it better" she explains.

"If you don't mind me asking, what creature are you?" I ask politely.

"I'm a demon, but I don't like to refer to myself as that so I just say I'm a bloody red, and I assume you're a neko" she says pointing to my ears.

"Yeah, I got it from my mum" I say smoothing out the curly hair.

"My parents are both demons as well, but my dad left my mum earlier in my life, I don't even remember my damn dad" she says chuckling.

"I used to live with my dad in the mortal world, but I got bullied at school by a friend who found out and so I moved here" I say trying my hardest not to remember the horrible things Louis did to me.

"Well now you are finally in a place where your kind are worshipped" she says smiling and I smile back. "Oh and they found a room for you today, you will probably move in tomorrow"

"Awesome, well I gotta go. Nice meeting you Maddi" I wave at her.

"Nice to meet you too Dan" she says before closing her window and curtains.

I do the same and plug my phone into the speaker and play novocaine by fall out boy.

"Cast them out 'cause this is our culture
These new flocks are nothing but vultures"

I belt out the lyrics at the top of my lungs, smiling in content with my new life.
