Seokjin never liked to eat out. He much preferred to cook himself. Not that you minded. You loved seeing him hunched over the kitchen counter, chopping at some vegetables with passion, refusing to show you what he was cooking. He was always very adventurous with food too. Steak, chicken, beef, you never knew it could all be cooked and prepared in so many different ways until you had met him. It was rare you had the same meal twice in a month; and if you did it was because you had enjoyed it so much the first time you had begged to have it the second. He loved cooking so much and you could tell how passionate he was about it just by looking at him in the kitchen.
Tonight he was preparing something special, you had no idea what but you were sure you'd enjoy it. There had only been one occasion you hadn't liked what Jin had cooked. He was gutted when you told him but admitted to doing something wrong in the process of preparing it. You were sat on the soft sofa with your head buried in a book that you had just bought. The smell of something new flew into your nostrils from under the kitchen door. Lifting your head up and closing your eyes, you took in the smell.
What a tease.
You knew Seokjin wouldn't let you into the kitchen when he was cooking. He loved to surprise you. He always had. There were some days when he would ask you to come into the kitchen to taste something to see if it needed more seasoning, even then he would send you back out again. Other times he would let you sit on the counter and watch him as he emerged himself in what he was cooking. Most mornings you would watch him prepare a large breakfast -shirtless- and you would sit on the worktop, swinging your legs happily, watching the beautiful man do what he loved. Sometimes you would hug him from behind, hands around his stomach, resting your chin on one of his baud shoulders, and breath in the smell of whatever he was cooking. But dinners were a definite no access zone.
The smell teased your nose and set all of your senses on high. You just wanted to know what he was doing. Was it too much to ask? Apparently so.
Even so, you carefully placed your bookmark into your book where you left off -careful not to bend the page- and creeped off of the sofa and towards the door of the kitchen. You at least wanted a better smell. When you reached the door, you leant towards it slowly and took a deep -and quiet- breath in through your nose. Then an even deeper one out. It smelt amazing. How a smell could smell so wonderful you did not know. But you wanted to.
Curiosity took over and you slowly reached a hand towards the doorknob, turning ever so slowly, and pushing the door open just enough to peek round. There you were greeted with a truly gorgeous sight. Strong toned back facing you was Jin. Grey t-shirt slung over his wide shoulders due to the heat of the food. Hands working away at something in front of him that sounded like it was sizzling. Different spices, herbs and seasonings were sprawled out all over the counters that you loved to sit on. Off cuttings of food covered every surface that wasn't occupied with finished food or bottles of anything, sauces were among them. Steam fogged up the windows in front of Seokjin who was now running his hand through his hair and tasting something.
"Ahh!" He let out a loud noise of pleasure that you knew so well. He made the noise every single time he tasted something good. He was even more passionate about eating and tasting food as he was about cooking it.
You let out a small giggle at the noise and how engrossed he was in what he was doing. However, as soon as you let the noise escape your lips, Jin's head snapped back to look at you, causing you to let out a shriek and slam the door shut quickly. Running back to your spot on the sofa and opening your book where you had left off, pretending to have been reading this whole time.
Jin's head poked through the door, and you looked back at him, raising your eyebrows.
"Don't act all innocent Y/N. I know you were spying on me."
"Spying's a bit harsh." You counterattacked, "I'd prefer admiring."
He laughed and beckoned you into the kitchen. You followed without question.
When you reached the kitchen, Jin was leaning with his back against the counter and his exposed torso facing you. Standing in the doorframe, you raised your eyebrows and grinned. Without replying, he spun around and continued doing exactly what he was doing before. Step by step, you made your way to stand by his side, staring at him and watching as his hands moved so quickly and him biting his lip in concentration, hoping you didn't notice his eyes flicker to you every so often.
When he had finished, he dished up the meal and put it on the table that you shared. The two of you sat down silently. He nodded towards you and knowing full well what he wanted, you picked up your fork and shovelled a bit of everything into your mouth.
"Oh my god." Your eyes widened at the explosion of tastes in your mouth. It was amazing.No. Amazing was an understatement. It was impeccable.
Your reaction caused Jin to grin and fork a lot of food in his mouth too.
"Ahh." He let out with a mouth completely full of food. You nodded in agreement, putting more food into your mouth.
The two of you finished your meals, each exchanging different noises of pleasure, that you were sure if anyone had heard you they would have surely thought you were doing something very different than eating bulgogi.
