Drinks

"Come on Ward it's gonna be fun," Fitz said to the scowling man. Grant huffed and crossed his arms.

"Fine, but you'll pay for my drink," he said. Fitz smirked. It wasn't always easy to win an argument against Ward.

"Gladly. And besides, Jemma's bringing her friend. Maybe you'll like her."

Grant scoffed. He doubted it. He's never really been a people person. The reason he liked Fitz and Simmons (He preferred calling both of them by their last names) is because they became a brother and sister to him. That was his only family and he was fine with that.

"I'll drive," Fitz called back to him. He grabbed his keys and head out the door with Grant in tow.

"Go with me," Simmons half pleaded with Skye, who was concentrated on her laptop.

"Why," Skye groaned, "I'm in the middle of watching How to Get Away With Murder and Annalise is slaying everyone."

"You can go on Netflix later, let's go out and socialize, hit on some boys," she wiggled her eyebrows. "We haven't seen Fitz in a while and he's going to bring his friend, maybe he's a guy you should look into!"

"Last time I was in a relationship with a boy, he stole money from my bank account. Multiple times.  Why do you think I'm all holed up in here right now?" Skye motioned to the blankets that practically formed a fort around her.

"I don't think he's a hacker. But I have heard that he's pretty symmetrical if you know what I mean," she winked. Skye sighed.

"Okay, fine, I'll give it a go. Just give me a sec I need to at least look good," Skye marched over to her closet. She grabbed a casual black dress and heels. Soon enough she got all of her clothing and make up on, and she didn't look like a trash bag.

The bar was slightly full, but not too crowded. She could see men out of the corner of her eye scanning her up and down, but she avoided them. She didn't feel like talking to anyone else except the two she was already slightly forced to talk to. ("Thanks to you, Jemma," she muttered.) Jemma spotted Fitz and dragged Skye over to the bar. Then she laid eyes on his friend.

Whatever Jemma said was an understatement. He wore a tight fitting black shirt, showing off his fit physique. His hair was dark and spiked up a little messy, going well with the stubble growing on his face. It took her a moment to realize his dark eyes were settled on her too, and she tried everything in her power not to blush.

"Well that was easy," Fitz whispered to Simmons, who hummed in agreements. Fitz made room for Simmons on his side, which meant Skye was going to sit next to Grant. She couldn't tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

"My names Skye," she smiled, and saw him search for words. "Nice to meet you, my names Grant Ward," he shook hands with her. "He has nice hands," she thought, before she realized that was a really stupid thing to think about. (She couldn't help it, he was really attractive.)

The introduction lead to a full on conversation. Fitz and Simmons were in their own world, discussing work in the lab. It got to a point where Grant suddenly burst out laughing, something Fitz and Simmons have seen him do only about two times before. Skye was laughing too, and they both seemed completely oblivious to the fact that the other pair were staring at them as if they saw an asteroid hit the earth.

"Yeah, I've been through quite a few embarrassing moments," Skye said. Grant was beaming at her, as if she was a huge beacon of light. It turned out that despite them not having too much in common (except that they both loved scotch), they clicked. He seemed to love everyone of her jokes, no matter how stupid, and she loved all of his stories. Fitz and Simmons felt more than accomplished.

"It's like we're actual matchmakers," Simmons marveled.

By the end of the night, they exchanged numbers while both of them were giggling rather oddly (Fitz suspected that they got a little drunk) and headed home with the two scientists as their designated drivers.

"You've been smiling even since you left the bar, that's a first," Fitz snorted at Grant. He seemed to ignore him, yet he did receive a soft punch in the shoulder.

"I never thought I would say this, but thanks for taking me out, I had a good time," Grant grinned at the driver. Fitz grinned back.

   "I told you so."

Okay here's the second one! It's a little bit shorter but I wanted to get it done before the week started, or else I would probably not be able to get around to finishing it. I hope you guys enjoyed reading, and please vote and comment what you thought, and also feel free to request some prompts on here or on my Instagram (skyewards.shield)! Thank you :)
