Madeline glared at him.

"Princess, tell me why you want to leave me? What have I ever done to hurt you?" He asked desperately.

She stayed silent.

Ace glanced to her shoulder, where Sol's mark still lays. Although it was faint, it was still there. Luck, was still on her side on that part and she was at the least content that he will not be able to touch her. "Just a few more days, Princess until that mark fades," he snapped his eyes back onto Madeline. "And when it does you'll be mine forever."

His soft and sweet demeanor changed to a complete creepy and obsessive one. For being around him for a short time span, she noticed the quick change in his attitude. Quicker than an Alpha's attitude should be.

As soon as she knows, Ace had her by her throat and pressed down on the bed. His face was close to hers as he slowly sniffed Madeline from her chest up to her neck. "I'll make sure I take you slow. And hard." She gasped for breath but continue to stay silent, glaring at him.

Ace growled lowly and pushed off her and stormed out the room, slamming the door and almost breaking it off its hinges. She gasped desperately for breath as she begin to cough. The burning pain on her throat throbbed as she silently sobbed. She tightly closed her eyes and tried again to link with Sol but got silence like all those other times.

It could be she was too far from him or it was because the mark was almost fading so the link was weak. Madeline turned back onto her back as tears fell down the sides of her face. She looked up to the dull ceiling. "Sol," Madeline whispered brokenly.

A week went by and her mark was now just barely visible. As she looked out the window, she was starting to get terrified of what was to come. What if Sol doesn't find me in time? What if Ace marks me before Sol does? What if-

Her thoughts get interrupted when Ace enters the room with a tray of food. He set the food down at a table and then sits on the chair, making it face her first. "I got on the wrong foot, Princess," he softly said as he rubbed his hands on his knees. Ace took a deep breath. "Your father, Alpha Ronan, and mine had made an agreement years ago before you were even born into this world. You were still in your mother's womb when they decided that if it was a girl, that you'd be mine and if a boy, we'd be best allies."

His eyes held awe but Madeline couldn't care to look at him even once. "When I saw you for the first time in the pack hospital I couldn't be happier. You were going to be mine. My mate. The one I'll love with my all. Then a year or two went by and your father decided to break the agreement between your pack and ours. Said that, my father was going crazy or something. My father was furious," he spoke with remembrance. "He told me that I was going to have you one way or another. Said that, no matter where you were, I would have found you and made you mine. That was also the same time when mom left us."

Ace snapped out of his sad revere and smiled. Madeline looked back at him. Her heart sunk down to the pit of her stomach as she felt like she was about to throw up. "And here you are years later," he practically whispered out. "I'm glad I have found you again."

"Why did your mom leave?" Madeline asked without stuttering.

Ace's eyes widen. He looked away in thought. "I don't exactly remember. But dad said she just didn't love him anymore and left him. He was also angry. Very angry. I wonder where she's at now?" He more like mumbled to himself confused.

Madeline stilled. She clenched her hands as her blood ran cold. Ace's father...killed his own mate. Tears brimmed her eyes as she kept looking at Ace with pity and sympathy. He doesn't even know what really happened to her. "Why...are you looking at me like that?" He asked slowly as his eyes start to darken with anger.
