The Adventure

"Excuse me, what do you think you're doing?" I heard a masculine voice ask from behind me.

"Fixing this ship, the coolant has run out." I explained, turning to face this man.

"Well, why are you fixing it? It isn't your ship!" He protested, I analysed his face. He was rather attractive, I decided after a while.

"Uh, yes it is." I responded. "I'm Halia Flynn. Captain of this pile of junk." I gestured to the older ship.

"Well, I just bought a ship and got told it was in this docking bay, and I don't see another ship around here so -" He began to argue but I interrupted him, I wasn't going to let him take my ship, not even for a second.

"I own this ship. If anyone has sold it to you, I am sorry but you must've got the wrong docking bay." I spoke through gritted teeth.

"How exactly do you intend on sorting the coolant out anyway? You'll need to get right into the ship and you're in a skirt." He gestured to my clothes, a worn blue work shirt and a flowing navy skirt that finished mid-calf.

"I'll manage..." I paused for his name.

"Han Solo, captain of the Millenium Falcon." He grinned and pulled the edges of his jacket forward in pride.

"Well, Captain Solo, I will manage to fix the coolant just fine. Purely because I wear skirts does not mean I am incapable of climbing into my ship. It may seem somewhat impractical but in case it's escaped your notice, nobody else is going to do it for me." I retorted before turning back to my ship and starting to clamber inside, coolant in hand.

"Well, you can't just go and climb into your ship on your own!" Han declared from behind me.

"I can and I will!" I called from inside.

"Halia!" He called, remembering my name from my polite introduction before he pissed me off. I stepped out of my ship after promptly replacing the coolant inside.

"That's Captain Flynn to you, but yes?" I placed my hands on my hips, looking him in the eye. I'm fairly certain I had oil all over my face, but I did my best to look intimidating.

"Are you part of the Resistance? Or do you want to be?" He asked, raising an eyebrow and lifting a thumb to clean a spot of oil off my face.

"Yes, I am part of the Resistance. I organised it with General Organa a while back. She said I was the second best pilot she'd ever seen. The first being you, of course, Han." I was hesitant to use his name, but considering he used mine earlier and pissed me off, I used his. "She thinks very highly of you, you know, Leia..."

"I know." He answered briefly. "Do you have a co-pilot? Because I kind of need a way back to base." He ran his hand through his hair.

"I don't have a co-pilot, no. I normally pilot a ship on my own, but I guess I could have one for one trip." I replied, opening the door to my ship and turning around just before I walked in. Han smiled gratefully and lightly jogged over to the door.

"Thank you, Halia - I mean Captain Flynn." He said with a smile, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. I shrugged it off.

"It's all right, Han, Halia will do." I smiled back and showed him the way to the cockpit. I sat down in my pilot's chair and buckled myself in and I noticed Han meekly sitting down in the co-pilot position next to me. "Han, you can sit down, you know, and please put your seatbelt on - I'm a safety first kind of person." I smiled and started the engine once Han found himself comfortable.
