A/N: idk if this is gonna be relevant at all to the actual plot of star wars but idc because i just wanted to write about Halia again
The Reunion
Leia led Han and I inside the base. It was a large base, with a lot of rooms - presumably some of them being sleeping quarters and others being hangars for ships and training rooms. As we walked inside, I couldn't help a small "woah" escape my lips. I was in awe, there was no denying it.
"So, what's the problem this time?" I asked. I'd helped Leia out with Luke before, he just didn't know that I did. Because of this, I knew Leia quite well, I would say that we were friends - I'm not sure how she would qualify our relationship, but I think she would consider me a friend or something along those lines.
"Luke needs some company." Leia stated. I stopped walking and looked at her as she walked on.
"What? Leia, I'm a bit confused. What do you mean company? We didn't have that kind of friendship..." I started to ramble on a bit. Leia chuckled and turned to the side where I was no longer walking before turning around to me.
"Not like that, Halia." A sigh of relief flew out of me. "He's going on a mission and it's going to take a while. He needs someone to talk to, otherwise he'll go insane! And, you know Luke best, even though you haven't seen him face-to-face for years - you do. You are the best person for the job." I blushed a little at Leia's kind words about mine and Luke's friendship. But suddenly a wave of anxiety crashed over me.
"But what if when I see him again he doesn't remember me? Or he doesn't want to see me? Or... Or..." I stuttered as my voice began to wobble and tears threatened to fall. Han stood the other side of me and rested his arm around me. He did this a lot, didn't he?
"Halia, he has the memory of an elephant - he will remember you. And if he doesn't want to see you then we'll sort him out. It was cruel to leave you friendless for so many years." Han attempted to comfort me. Well, the first part kind of worked, but then - once again - he pissed me off.
"I had other friends!" I protested, "Luke Skywalker was not my only friend! I still have friends, Han!" Without my notice, we had reached the room we were walking to. The room where Luke was. The one where I'd meet him again. And the door was open.
There he was.
He looked like he hadn't aged a day, except that he'd seen more than his Uncle's farm. He was tinkering away on a blue and white droid and didn't notice me standing there, eyes glued to him: my long-lost best friend. I missed him, not only because I had a crush on him all those years ago and him leaving broke my heart a bit, but I missed his company; his laugh; his presence. I missed Luke Skywalker more than words could say.
"Hey, Luke," Leia greeted, entering the room, closely followed by Han and then by me.
"Hey, Leia, Han," He said in response, without even looking up from the droid. "There you go, Artoo, you shouldn't be leaking anymore." He finished working on the droid and looked up. My heart began to pound in my chest. The moment of truth.
"Hi, Luke," I spoke up after a moment of silence. He looked me directly in the eyes, almost as if he was searching my soul. "You might not rem-"
"Halia?" He asked, checking to see if it was me. I nodded. "Halia? Halia!" He threw his arms around me in a tight hug. I hugged him back, I had missed everything about him so much. He picked me up and spun me around - I was a great deal shorter than him so it was like him picking up a small child.
"Luke! Stop, I'm in a skirt!" I punched his back but I was a bad punch so it probably didn't hurt him that much, but he put me down.
"I thought you were dead." He whispered into my ear as he put me down, a grin appearing on his face.
