Chapter Ten: Power Surge

Hey guys! I know it's been a while and I am so sorry. My tablet broke and wouldn't charge so I had to wait for it to be fixed. And I couldn't exactly use my phone because the screen was broken.But I got a new phone so updates will continue Although rather slowly. But let's forget about all that and get to the new chapter. I sit quietly staring at my hands in confusion. I could feel the power sizzling right underneath my skin on the tips of my fingers, then nothing. Like they just fizzled out. Why?

What's wrong with me?

A hand lands on my shoulder but I barely even flinch, to confused. To worried as to why my powers weren't working. I feel hands on my face drawing my head up. I stare into the eyes of my best friend, Spencer stands silently against the wall and Headmistress Valentine passes in front of a passed out Oliver. Levi is sitting on the arm of the couch that Oliver is passed out on, right by his head running his fingers through his hair.

"Why aren't my powers working right?" I asked the Headmistress. I mean i had only just come into my powers days ago and she obviously knows more than I do.

"The blue moon is tomorrow." The Headmistress said.
What?
"What do you mean the blue moon? What does that have to do with my powers?"

  "A blue moon is an additional full moon that appears in a subdivision of a year: either the third of four full moons in a season, or a second full moon in a month of the common calendar. " The Headmistress explained. "Water based powers get there power from the moon goddess. So on full moons they get these burst of powers for as long as the full moon last. But since the goddess doesn't want water based magic users to get to used to the extra power, the additional full moon messes with or power instead of strengthening them. Your powers are just fluctuating. They'll be back to normal by tomorrow, just try not to use your powers to much."

I groaned and flopped back onto the floor, throwing my hands in the airs as I did so. Worst. Timing. Ever. 

"We're suppose to be testing out our powers in  Elemental Magic I tomorrow." Spencer snickers

"Isn't that convenient?" I mock glare at him and stick my tongue out. Just as he was about retort, a loud groan is heard across the room.  I turn to Oliver just in time to see Levi help him sit up. 

"What happened?" he asked with a pained moan "Ugh, my head."

"Agni got out." Levi says simply. Oliver groaned again. Then the noise stop as he shot straight up and blinked looking at Levi with a curious look on his face.

"Ivan?" Levi (Ivan?) smiled and nodded "What are you doing here?" Oliver asked as he hugged Levi? I don't even know anymore.

"Someone had to stop your phoenix before he went on a rampage and who better to do that than his mate."

Whoa.

Bomb. Dropped.

"Okay! Wait wait wait wait wait, " Every body stops talking and turns to me. "First of all, If that's not Levi then who the fuck is it? And second of all why the fuck didn't you tell me he was your mate!?" I stopped for a minute then asked my last question

"What is a mate?

"Okay so let me get this straight." I press my pointer and middle finger to my forehead "You, Oliver, have another part in you which is where you get you powers. Your phoenix, Agni, right?" Oliver nodded " And you're tell me I have an animal in me too, which is why Professor Pierce called me a shifter when I first came to his class. Levi or Ivan or whatever his name is right now,"
