I stared at my parents in shock, stunned silent. I can't believe they hide this from me for so long. I turn 17 in less than a day. I graduate in a year in a half. I'm not even an adult yet and I already have the weight of the world on my shoulders. I don't need this, not now. I can't take this. I stand up abruptly and run out the door my mom and dad calling after me. But ignore them pushing people out of the way as I run down the hall and the front doors of the school. Even then I kept running. My lungs had begun to burn, but still, my feet moved. Caring my away from the problems. After who knows how long of running I come to a stop in a clearing. It looks just like the one from my dream. My eyes burn with angry tears.
The dreams are probably another side effect of my "powers." I think bitterly

"What do you want from me!?" I scream at the sky, my frustration getting the better of me. "I can't save the world! I'm still I kid, I can't do this alone!" Wind blows through the clearing, rustling the leaves and carrying a voice with it.

You won't be alone.

My eyes widen as the voice wraps around me before disappearing. I drop to the ground, pulling my knees to my chest as I begin to cry. I don't know how long I sat there before I heard movement in the trees around me. I jerk my head up and look around. Pretty soon my eyes make contact with bright, nearly glowing, golden eyes. I jump to my feet as a giant wolf walks out of the forest and directly towards me. As the large wolf walked towards me I heard a crunch behind me. I quickly turned around, almost immediately spotting the second wolf stalking out of the forest behind me. The wolf pins me with their bright eyes, alight with curiosity and wariness. The wolves walk closer to me, almost simultaneously and I scramble backwards tripping over a rock and falling on my back. I shuffle backwards, the palms of my hands stinging as rocks and sticks dug into them. My back hit the trunk of a tree and I began to panic. I hold my hands up in front of my face in a feeble attempt at shielding myself. I felt a quick puff of air against my hand before a cold, wet nose is nuzzling my hand. My eyes open in surprise and I quickly look up at the wolf in front of me. Before I have time to react a sharp howl sounds through the air. The wolves perk up, giving me a quick look before bounding of, disappearing into the thick foliage.

After all the drama that had gone on that afternoon I was ready to crash. I left the forest and returned home, tired and weary. I slowly opened back garage door, wincing at the loud noise it made and slowly tip-toed my way to the stairs.

"Andi." I froze, sighed and turned around. I stared hard at my mom

"Mother." I replied icily. He flinched and I felt a flash of guilt flow through me but I pushed it aside.

"I know you're mad and you have every right to be. We hid a huge part of your life from you and for that I'm sorry but will you at least let me explain why?" He said looking at me with pleading eyes. I nodded shortly. "When my mother told me and your dad about the prophecy after I got pregnant with you I didn't want you to go through the same struggles of war I went through. In my mind I was protecting you from potential sadness and danger. I wanted you to stay the sweet little boy I knew you were gonna be, But in the end I was just keeping you from fulfilling your destiny. You were fated to be a hero and I had no right to hide that from you. I'm sorry."

I sit silently think everything over and smile. They were just trying to protect me and I acted like an ass. Guilt hit me in the gut hard and I quickly wrapped my Mom in a hug.

"I'm sorry for acting like a ass. I just don't like being kept in the dark, but even then I should have known that you were doing it to protect me."
