"Could we talk?" Hannah asks Logan. He had been listening to Anton talk to Alfred about his breathing exercises and explaining the medications the doctor prescribed to him and their side effects. Logan uncrosses his arms, nodding and follows Hannah who takes him out of the apartment. "So you know about the dinner."
"I do," Logan answers. "Thanks to Astrid of all people."
Hannah frowns. "I'm sorry I didn't say anything sooner, Logan ..."
"Are you really sorry?" Logan asked sarcastically, "Because I think you're just saying that because you got caught."
Hannah blinks, "'Caught'? Caught doing what?"
"Having a dinner date with another man!" Logan snaps angrily. Hannah stared at him, hurt.
"It was nothing like that, I promise," Hannah shakes her head. "Erma was with us the whole time; you can ask her!"
"I would but you've forbidden me from visiting you at his house," Logan retorts.
"Logan please," Hannah says begging, "You have to believe me when I tell you that you're jealous over nothing. You're blowing this way out of proportion."
"I'm not blowing anything out of proportion, Hannah!" Logan shouts. Hannah looks around before turning back to him and motioning him to keep it down. "I won't be quiet! It is what it is, Hannah. You deliberately went out of your way to throw this man a party and you had dinner with him."
"With Erma sitting right next to us," Hannah adds with frustration. "It wasn't a one on one dinner by ourselves, Logan. It's not whatever Astrid made it out to be – she wasn't even there!"
"Why don't I believe you?" Logan asks coldly.
Hannah's shoulders drop, defeated. "Whatever Logan. If you don't want to believe me then ... I guess there's nothing I can do about it."
"There is something you can do, there is," Logan nods with a seething grin. "Quit your job at that place and tell him to take everything back. Tell him to take back all his money, to get his little nurse over here to get the hell out of your apartment – even if you have to get three different jobs but just do it!"
"I will do no such thing," Hannah tells him, having had enough of this fight. She stared angrily into his eyes. "What happens to my father then? You honestly think I could do that? Afford all those expenses? That nurse is going to take care of my father while I work. Even if I did quit and got "three jobs" ... who would then stay here to take care of him? You? You're going to take care of my father? I didn't think so. It's easy for you to throw demands left and right but you don't stop and think what all this is for!"
"So Astrid was right," Logan said shaking his head. "You really are using her brother, befriending him and getting close to him just so he pays for everything. Makes me wonder what else you've done that I don't know about."
Hannah slaps Logan.
"How dare you?" she says to him, tears forming in her eyes. She stared at his face, so angry and stone cold. How could this be the same man she'd fallen in love with a long time ago?
"I don't recognize you," Hannah tells him, backing up against her door. "I'm sorry for not having told you about the dinner sooner, but I will not stand here and let you insult me. I haven't done anything to be ashamed about. The only one who should be ashamed is you for thinking those terrible things about me. I want you to leave."
"Hannah..."
"Leave," Hannah repeats sternly. She turns and goes back inside the apartment, shutting the door on Logan's face.
