Astrid opened her eyes. The bright light shining into the room was blinding. It took her a while before her eyes adjusted and she realized she wasn't in her room. She saw she was only wearing a man's shirt. She looked up, glancing around the unfamiliar room, the bed she was in.

Logan's bed.

Jumping out, she looked around some more until she found her clothes thrown all over a chair that sat in a corner. Astrid quickly got out of the shirt she was in and into her own clothes. Cautiously, she leaves the bedroom and walks out into a small living room. Astrid heard sizzling sounds coming from the kitchen, the aroma of bacon and eggs filling the air. Logan appeared from the kitchen and nodded at her.

"Good morning," he said to her.

"Um, morning," Astrid replies, watching him with a puzzled look.

"Sleep good?"

"Sure," Astrid answers, rubbing her head. "Um ... did we...?"

Logan looks at her questioningly before he realizes what she's asking. His cheeks turn red and he shakes his head.

"I slept on the couch," Logan clarifies.

Astrid breathes a sigh of relief, "Oh. Well ... thank you for giving up the bed."

"No worries. Hungry? I'm making some breakfast."

"Okay," Astrid nods.

"Good, I'm almost done," Logan says and disappears into the kitchen.

Astrid looked around the apartment. It was tiny but cute in a weird way, she thought. Her eyes landed on a framed photograph. She picked it up and saw that it was a picture of him and Hannah. She rolled her eyes and put the frame back. She walked over to the only window in the living room and peered out. The day was bright and there wasn't a single cloud up in the sky. She leaned against the windowsill and wrapped her arms around herself as she closed her eyes. For a brief moment she pretended as if she had woken up in the apartment of a boyfriend. Astrid opens her eyes and she's smiling.

"You look happy."

Astrid jumps and whirls around. Logan had come back with two plates.

"I... um," Astrid stammers as she mentally curses herself for not being able to put words together quick enough. "I ... it's a nice day – I mean – It looks like nice weather outside."

"Sure does," Logan says and walks over to the small round table near the living room. He sets the plates down where he already had a pitcher of orange juice and coffee ready.

How long had he been preparing breakfast? Astrid thought as she walked over and sat across from him. She looked down at the food and it all looked wonderful.

"You were pretty drunk last night," Logan says, taking a bite of his eggs.

"Was I? I don't remember a thing," Astrid laughs awkwardly. "I mean I remember our talk at the bar but afterwards it all seems like a blur."

"You knocked out," Logan tells her. "Not much to tell."

Astrid looked at him, thinking it was incredibly nice of him to have given up his bed for her. He could have easily made her sleep on the couch and, from glancing at the furniture now, she was glad he hadn't. Astrid couldn't remember the last time someone did something this nice or was this selfless for her.

Maybe something Julian did years ago... back when he cared about me, Astrid thought bitterly biting into a strip of bacon. That was such a long time ago, I forgot how nice it feels.
