Dean blinks his eyes open, but when he does, it's still as if his eyes are closed. His ears are ringing, but that is quickly fading away. He keeps blinking, freaking out. He can't be blind, a blind hunter will die.

"Dean!" He hears Sam's voice.

"Sam, I can't see!" Dean exclaims.

"Calm down." Dean can feel Sam's hands touch his face. Finally, things start to brighten. Slowly, Sam's face swims into view.

"Are you okay?" Sam asks, looking at Dean worriedly. Things around Dean start to focus as Dean's sight regains. Though something seems to be very off about Sam. Instead of just his face, beneath it, he can see something else. As his vision gets clearer, so does it.

Dean recognizes it as Sam's soul. He briefly saw it once, back when Sam was soulless. Now it shines, brighter than before, because it's healthier.

Dean is mesmerized by it. Somehow he's able to focus back on Sam's face, the souls still shining through.

"What the hell?" Dean says aloud.

"Dean what's wrong?" Sam asks. "Can you see me?"

"I can see your soul." Dean says in awe.

"Dean what are you talking about?" Sam asks.

"Your soul, I can see it. Is this how you see all the time, Cas?" Dean asks out, but no reply comes. "Where's Cas?" He scans the room, searching for the angel.

"He left, Dean." Sam says softly. "He told me to tell you he's sorry."!sam replies. "He came back only to bring back the car, but he's been gone since." Sam explains.

"Why'd he leave?" Dean asks distressfully. "He saved me and he's just going to leave?" Dean looks a bit hurt.

"I don't know, he seemed really upset when he brought you back. I think he blames himself." Sam says.

"Well then we better go find him." Dean starts to stand.

"Oh no you don't," Sam pushes him back down. "You need rest and nutrients."

"Sam he's out there alone, probably beating himself up over this, I can't just sit here and not help him." Dean argues.

"Do you think he wants you to go looking for him when you should be resting." Sam says more firmly. "Besides, I'm sure he'll turn up, he always does. Especially for you."

"Fine," Dean growls. He finally relaxes on the bed.

"Here Cas left food, for you." Sam hands Dean a fast food bag with two burgers and fries. He also hands Dean a pie.

"At least Cas knows the difference between cake and pie." Dean grumbles, great fully taking the food from his brother.

"Yeah, it's cause he loves you." Sam says for maybe the millionth time since pretty much day one.

"Dude, he's an angel, they don't feel emotions like that." Dean responds, just like he does every time Sam says this. Though he wishes more than anything that it isn't true.

"You need to just grow a pair and tell him, the worst that will happen is him saying no, which I doubt will happen." Sam steals a fry from Dean.

"Tell him what, there's nothing to tell." Dean shrugs, but the more he tries to deny it, the more he comes to realize. He's in love with the scruffy angel in the trench coat and blue tie.

"Dean," Sam sighs, shaking his head.

"Besides, if there was anything for me to say, it's not like I can. He isn't here, and you won't let me find him." Dean grumbles.

"Just eat your food and rest, we're leaving in the morning." Sam rolls his eyes at Dean. Sam has known from the beginning that they were going to fall for each other. It was so obvious, and the more time passed the more Sam knew. Cas gave up so much for Dean, he turned his back in heaven. For one guy. And Dean, he has always put his trust in Cas. No matter how many times Cas thinks he screwed up, Dean still trusted him. Trusted him with not only his own life, but Sam's, and the well being of the impala.

Sam has never been so positive that two people were in love until it came to Dean and Cas. They way they constantly fret over each other's well being and life. They would do anything for each other. That's how Sam was with Jess.

A little while later, Sam lays down after being sure Dean is asleep. Little does he know, but Dean was faking sleep. As soon as he is sure Sam is asleep, he gets up and pads out of the motel room.

He walks along the building, till he gets to a well hidden area.

"Cas!" He calls. He glances around, but he is nowhere to be seen. "Castiel!" He shouts. "You better get your feathery ass down here!" He is met with silence and nothing else. He spends the next ten minutes calling for his fallen angel.

"Dammit Cas," Dean drops to his knees, clasps his hands. He hasn't prayed like this is a long time.

"Cas, please, I'm begging you, come back." He murmurs. "I don't blame you, for anything. I just want you to come back. I-" he pauses. He can't finish the sentence, not how he wants to. "We need you, I need you." He says the line that brought Cas back to him two years ago.

"Dean," the gruff voice sounds behind him. Dean stands and whirls around. Dean is completely awestruck.
