LAURA

Laura was getting annoyed. "Percy, will you tell Ross to stop? He's so annoying."

Percy pulled Laura next to him. "I have a feeling you are a daughter of Aphrodite, try charmspeaking."

"Try charm what now?"

"Charmspeaking. I'll tell Piper to show you." he turned to Piper and Annabeth, who were guiding two boys (who were drooling rather than listening). "Yo Piper!"

Both Annabeth and Piper whirled around and ran over to them. The boys ran after them like puppies.

"Thank god you called me. Annabeth and I are so fed up with those guys," Piper said, seeming to be oblivious of the boys behind them.

Laura let out a giggle and pointed behind her. Piper just flicked the pouting guys off. "Did it on purpose."

They stuck their bottom lips out more and Laura had to admit, they looked pretty cute. Though the one hugging her waist was cuter in her opinion. She couldn't say that out loud, right?

"Lauraaa."

"Stop complaining, you big baby."

"I'm not complaining, I'm enjoying this. You're so squishy, like a teddy bear." and to prove his point, he squeezed Laura's sides, making her giggle and squirm around.

"You're adorable," he chuckled, tickling her.

"P-piper, HELP!" Laura yelled in between giggles.

"Ross, stop!" Piper came to her rescue. Ross instantly released. Laura fell.

Her face was about to come into contact with the ground, but then she was flying and landed softly.

"What the hell?" she asked confusedly.

"Heavens," Percy corrected.

"Right, sorry. What the heavens?"

"That was Jason." Piper explained. That name already gave her the chills. "As a child of Zeus, he has the power to summon winds, that's how he saved you."

Laura caught him staring at her, wearing an unreadable expression.

"Anyway, Piper. Could you teach Laura how to charmspeak?" Percy added in.

"Sure and hey, could you take these two for me?" Piper asked.

"No problem," he replied, taking the pouting guys away along with Annabeth.

"Phew!" Piper fake-wiped a sweat from her forehead. "Finally!"

"Were they really that bad?" Laura asked.

"Yes."

"I'm pretty sure they're not as bad as Ross."

"Hey! I'm here, you know," Ross piped in.

Laura faked a gasp. "Oops, sorry." But she didn't sound apologetic at all.

Ross rolled his eyes and turned towards Piper. "So, where are we heading next, Ms. Tourist Guide?"

"To the cabins." Piper replied. "And please don't call me that."

Ross shut up instantly.

"And that's how you charmspeak, Laura." Piper flipped her hair and walked away.

"I don't get it."

"Just get your emotions into your words. Have confidence, be persuasive and sound desperate."

Laura and Piper became fast friends. They kept chatting and joking around, ignoring the very bored Ross behind.

"Why was Cinderella such a bad football player?" Piper asked.

"Why?" Laura giggled.

"Because her coach was a pumpkin," Piper stressed on the word coach. Laura burst into fits of giggles.

"That was good," she wiped tears from her eyes. Like, actual tears.

"Yeah. Hey, can I ask you something?" Piper said.

"Ask away."

"Why does Jason always look at you? I mean, you obviously look gorgeous and all, but he's never checked out any girl so long before. Even my charmspeak didn't work on him." Piper's stare was intense and Laura felt uneasy.

"Look, Piper. I myself don't even know. But I can assure you, there's nothing going on between us. I don't even know, all I know is he looks familiar, but I can't recall from where. I think he feels the same way. I'm sorry."

Piper's eyes softened and she spoke, "No, I should be the one who is sorry. I misunderstood you."

Laura smiled. "So we're good?"

"You bet."

And they hugged.

"Is today Ignore Ross Day?" the annoyed blonde asked.

"Yes." the two brunettes answered in unison, looked at each other, then giggled.

Somewhere in the distance, a conch horn blew and Piper clapped excitedly.

"What?" Laura asked confusedly.

"Time to find out who your godly parent is, well maybe!" Piper took Laura's hand and ran.

"I really hope I'm a daughter of Aphrodite!" Laura yelled as Piper pulled her along.

"Me too, sister!"

And where was Ross, you may ask? He had already gone to Percy's group.
