Camila sighed too loudly, earning a look from the professor, who that day had decided to do the exercises in class in order to fully occupy the new student.
"God please, this is endless." She muttered through clenched teeth, while pounding fingers on the book.
As if someone was answering her prayer, the bell rang. In that moment the Latina stood up, looking at the clock on the wall with satisfaction.
"Camila, wait." her professor said "I have to ask you a question."
"Tell me." She replied, the new one was still sitting on the chair, looking at them with interest.
For a few seconds she was lost in her eyes.
"I know you're very busy." He began. "With the Cheerleaders and everything else."
She raised her eyebrows urging him to speak.
"I was wondering if you could help Lauren to catch up with this year's program, she has lost the first few months and she really needs help."
Lauren summoned as she stood closer to them "I'm sorry to give you this work." Then he said sincerely.
Camila stared at him for a few minutes, before turning her gaze to Lauren, she looked a bit 'worried. That girl didn't seem too bad, her taste in clothes was definitely better than many other girls in that school.
"Okay, I'll do it." She spoke after a long awkward silence, "Thank you, Camila." He said, turning to the brunette.
"It was a pleasure, Lauren." She said, holding her hand.
A jolt of electricity pervaded their bodies; Camila pulled away a bit 'too abruptly, earning a weird look from Lauren. After greeting the professor, she went out from class, as if someone was chasing her.
She walked briskly to her locker and, without even opening it, leaned against it, closing her eyes.
"What the hell was that?" She murmured to herself.
It was the first time that such a thing happened, it had never happened to shake someone's hand and try that strange feeling, something that started from the lower abdomen. As if her body was closely related to the other girl.
"It 's absurd." She said, shaking her head.
Then she heard someone fumbling beside her and opened her eyes, feeding back to that pair of emerald eyes.
"It seems to be fate!" Lauren exclaimed with joy, opening the locker door to store her books.
'Damn cruel Destiny' Camila thought

Lunchtime was another very important ritual at Miami High School, a time where you show everyone who matters.
Who could sit with whom.
Camila, Ariana, James and Shawn, were sitting together, a short distance from the table of the cheerleaders and football players; of course no one dared to sit in the empty seats that had remained at their table.
The two girls, who had completely empty trays, ate a little 'fruit and chatted among themselves of the training, while the two fools ate without much ceremony the strange color food they had served that day.
Lauren at that time made her entrance; after looking at the room full of teenagers, she took an empty tray and began looking for a free place. As she had expected it was not very easy, finally she found a place near the school nerds.
She didn't mind at all, but from experience she knew that was not a very quiet place.
Shawn stopped at her table, doing a complete radiography of the new entrance, pulling in the end an appreciative whistle.
