It was the first day of 10th grade, Emily was terrified that no one would want to be her friend. She was homeschooled all her life. She is a shy girl never met anyone besides her family, she had no reason to know anyone else. Her family never really stayed in one town, never stopped moving. But this time her father was hired. They were staying.

She walked into the building, that would soon be her school, with her family. Her father hugged her and left. Emily walked to her first class, right as she walked in she knew that she would hate everyone in that class. Emily sat in the back of class silently, as people tried to make conversations with her. Then he walked in...a tall boy, with his hair messy but curly, eyes the color of the ocean, and a smile that was so white it could blind a person. Wearing all black and a black pea coat that blew in the wind when he walked. He walked up and sat down in the seat next to her.

Emily quickly looked away with a tint of red smearing all over her face. Hoping that the chair you sat in was the chair you stayed in all year. She was in every class with him. Lunch time came around and she sat alone until him and his friends sat next to her.

"Hi, my name is John, I couldn't help but notice that you are in all my classes. So I thought I would introduce myself."

"Hi, I'm Emily, and that is very nice of you." Emily said very nervously.

"And she talks. Man, I thought that sense all the girls were saying you don't talk you wouldn't say hi back." John said with smirk on his face.

"I normally don't talk much." Emily tried not to make eye contact.

"Well I am Sam, this is Devon and Haily." A girl blurted out.

"Hi." Everyone then started to talk about how they hate this school, and told jokes as Emily sat and ate quietly laughing at the jokes. Is this it, did I just find my group? Emily thought as she laughed at a joke about Disney movies told by Haily. They then left the lunch room as a group, laughing about stupid but silly things.

John had something hidden about him, but Emily couldn't put her finger around it. And did not ask. It just added to his cuteness. That night she went home thinking about her new and only friends. " Hey dad, I'm home"

"Oh hey Emily, how was your first day of school ever?"

"Good, what about your day?"

"Oh, uh good"

"Well okay I have to read this book for a class. See you at dinner." She left before her dad could respond she didn't want him knowing there was no book. She logged on to her computer and opened Facebook. And started to find all her friends. Then she found one and it just had to be John. Oh no not John...I'll look desperate. But they all are waiting for this I told them I would send them a request. *beep* "huh? John sent a friend request."

"Honey dinner!!"

"Alright!" She closed her laptop and raced down the stairs. "Dad spaghetti...again."

"I thought you loved spaghetti?!?"

"I do but not when we have it everyday."

"Ok we'll have something else tomorrow. Now sit down."
