The figures turned around and looked at me. What were the alphas doing here? I studied them both as I walked over to where they sat. The man had broad shoulders, brown hair, amber eyes and a stern face. The female had crow black hair and hazel eyes, and a very slim figure. I stood there in front of them awkwardly.

I suddenly felt worried. Did Emillio tell them something? Did someone die? I swallowed and  bowed respectively. "Hello there Karanova." The woman said, smiling. I mumbled a hello. I looked at the male, who had a cold expression. I fidgeted nervously under his cold glare.

"Oh, Tom stop scaring the poor girl!" The alpha female scolded her husband. His face suddenly softened and he chuckled loudly. "Yes Mavala." Now I know where his son gets it from. I tried not to scowl at this thought.

"I apologize for my childish husbands behavior. So you are probably wondering why we are here." Mavala said, still smiling. I smiled softly and nodded.

"We just wanted to thank you for your dedication as a warrior. You are seem like a wonderful child for an orphan. You were very courageous when you saved that girl." Tom said.

I mumbled a thank you, ignoring the orphan comment. He nodded, I sat there for a moment awkwardly before saying, "Is that all, your majesties? I hate to be rude, but I have to make sure my friends arrive home safely."

Mavala chuckled. "Yes, that's all. You will be attending the ball in two months correct?" She asked standing up.

            "Ball, miss?" I asked confused.

"Yes the end of summer ball. If you do not have a date, I am afraid you will have to work the dance instead. So you better find one." she said winking. I smiled and bowed again. She grabbed her husband's hand and they left. I collapsed on the couch and sighed in relief.

Suddenly the door banged open and I heard someone make a trumpeting noise. I looked up to see my friends enter, matching in a straight line and stopping right in front of me. I laughed and they all plopped on the couches beside me.

"Where'd you go Kara?" Kat asked.

"Where did I go? You are the ones who ditched me!" I said, pouting.

"Put that away!" Marco said, laughing, poking my bottom lip. I slapped his arm playfully.

"Kara, have you seen my- oh."Maylene walked in, "I didn't know you had guests." Her eyes scanned over my group of friends, and her gaze stopped on Marco. He wiggled his eyebrows and winked at her. She turned a bright scarlet color.

I stifled a giggle. Marco smiled at her. she brushed even redder, if that was possible. I swear she didn't look like she was breathing."Stop Marco!" I hissed.

"What? She's hot." I slapped my forehead. Boys! "So, do you think she'd go out with me." Everyone sat utterly speechless at this. I was pretty sure I looked like a fish gasping for air. "Uh-Bu- Uh, sure I guess." I stuttered lamely.

He smiled and got up to talk to her. Huh, who would've thought. Naomi stopped everyone's staring by yawning largely. "Well I think we should go home, it's getting late." She suggested.

"Yeah, we're gonna head out. I'm beat. Bye Kar." Max said, patting me before standing up. I nodded. "Bye!" Katherine said and they walked out of my front door. Marco whirled around suddenly. "Guts wait for me!" he called. "Call me." He called to Maylene, and followed the others out the door.

For a few Minutes, she just sat there staring after them, red as a tomato. "Ahem." I said clearing my throat. She turned around, and blushed deeper, muttering an apology. "Right, now what did you need?" I asked a bit irritated. I wanted my alone time.

"Oh have you seen my flats? I left them here the other day." I pointed to underneath the coffee table. "Oh thanks a bunch." She said picking them up. "Oh and Kara?"

"Hmm?" I asked, my attention on one of the X-men movies.

"What's going on with you and Emillio? Are you guys an item or something?"

I stared at her with large eyes. "WHAT!" I shrieked.

"Should I take that as a no?" She grinned sheepishly.

"Are you nuts of course it's a no! I hate his guts! Why would you even think that May?!"

"Ok, ok sorry. Chill your boner! Bye!" She said, and she practically sprinted out of the room. I grumbled and turned my attention back to the TV. I was at the part where Fish Senator Kelly was dying.

"Eww!" I yelled. I hated this part. I know it's weird since, I do technically kill people. But him drowning in his own body water was just sick. I covered my eyes and tried not to vomit as I heard the gross gurgling sounds. Ewwy! It finally stopped and the talking resumed. I sighed in relief. "Thank heavens that's over."

Then I heard laughing and turned around. How many times could I get disgusted in one night. It was back! "What's so funny Atlas?" I scowled.

            "Your face!" He said laughing.

"Yeah, yeah laugh it up. Wait a sec, how'd you get in my house?!" I was sure I locked the door. "And who said you could keep bothering me! Go away!" I threw a pillow at him and he dodged it with a smirk. Dick!

"First off, your aim is terrible. Never try out for sports." I growled at him. "And to answer your first question that silver haired girl let me in." Maylene! I growled again. "Anyway, I said that I could keep bothering you, so there! And no, I don't think I will go away." He sounded like an over grown child! Seriously how old was this guy!

"Yeah, well the last one wasn't a question! Get out of my house!"

"Aww, but I wanted to watch you get disgusted over fish man again!" He cried pouting. Why did h have to look so cute when he pouted. Mental face palm. I gritted my teeth together. "You know maybe you should get a grind guard. That can't be good for your teeth."

"Har har." Maybe if I ignore him he will go away. I felt the ouch sink in beside me and I knew the thing from the swamp was sitting beside me. Just set my attention to Wolverine on the screen.

"So, how's your recovery going? we need you in commission ASAP. We are a warrior down on patrol, so I hope you'll be well soon." I grumbled and turned away.

"Well  I am fine! I will be coming back in two days and then everyone will forget about me like always. there happy? Now leave!" He stayed quiet. I looked at him and he almost looked, sad? I rolled my eyes and shook off that odd feeling creeping in the pit of my stomach. I pulled him up to his feet and not so gently shoved him out of the door.

I sat there and mulled over what just happened. I suppose when he first asked, I was almost hopeful that he actually cared. Of course that wasn't the case. But, then again, why did I expect anything different? Maybe, for a split second, even the most miniscule moment, I thought that people might have changed. I should just stop believing that they will though, because it’s hard for people to change.

I couldn't focus on X-men now. I tuned off the TV and made my way to my room. I plopped down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. I laid there for a while, not really thinking of anything in particular. And before I knew it those thoughts became my dreams, and I was asleep.

A/N: New chapter. There will probably be a new one every week. Though don't count on it. Though, it's not like anyone reads this anyway...
