On the job Natsu and I were on i had some time to think about myself...
How did the soldiers find me....
I know they did follow me or else they would have attacked sooner, did..... Did someone report me....
Was it Natsu.....? No....it couldn't have been.
But... He's the only one who knows I'm a princess and what kingdom I come from... He couldn't have... I don't believe it!I looked around at the trees and back down at the small path we were walking on.. It was calm and quiet
It was a bit relaxing just hearing our footsteps and leaving me with my thoughts.I suddenly saw Natsu forearm in front of my face blocking my view a bit I put my hand on his arm, lowering so I could see over
I was looking all over to see why Natsu stopped but I didn't see anything...
I was about to ask Natsu when he leaned closer to me and whispered
"Don't make a sound..."
I didn't move, slowed my breathing so I could maybe hear something...We were standing there for a few seconds more until Natsu quickly grabbed me and jumped backwoods away from a sword that just his the spot we were standing in, just missing us.
Natsu told me to stay there and not to move he let me go and ran where the bandits attacked.
Fighting and fighting.
The bandits didn't have a chance against Natsu!
I smiled and clapped a bit as he punched the last bandit
I heard some loud rustling behind me quickly turning around I saw one running straight for me with a knife.By eyes widened, quickly launching myself out of the way. I rolled once nearly missing his large dagger.
By the time I looked back Nastu had already got him down.
I was relieved and surprised I was able to jump out of the way so quickly. I was proud of myself.
I snapped out of my thought and dusted myself off.I looked around at the surrounding forest making sure no one else was around, it seemed to be clear but something in my was stirring. I felt like I was being watched even though I couldn't see anything or anyone.
Natsu's voice broke me out of my thoughts. "You comin?" He said behind me walking away down the path. "Yea" I said catching up to him taking a quick glance back behind us.
Still nothing.
Nastu seemed non faxed by my feeling of being watched so I brushed it off as nothing. We completed our missing and headed back with the treasure we needed.
After completing everything we finally made it home.
I made us something to eat while Nastu shuffled around in another room. He seemed to be searching for something. He seemed to have found what he was looking for, the shuffling stopped and I could hear footsteps behind me while I cooked.
He put something on my bed and came into the kitchen.
I didn't ask any questions and we ate in silence. Like always. After we were done I cleaned everything up and walked back to the living room to see a box on my bed.
I went over to it opening it up to see a bunch of books!
I loved reading. And had many books back at the castle. That's all I was able to do was read.
I read about everything and anything I could get my hands on.I smiled brightly and started shuffling through the box. Pulling out books I've read and looking at the ones I've never seen before.
One book in particular caught my eye.
It was a fictional novel about a princess.
And had dragons layering the cover. It seemed really fitting for the situation I was in.
"I knew you'd be interested" I heard Nastu say behind me.
"I don't read. And I hate readying. A guild member gave me this box trying to get me to read but that'll never happen." He says bluntly.
Who could ever hate reading??
"You should read, it can teach you a lot." I say looking at him. He just grunts at me then sits on the bed putting his hands behind his head leaning back.
"Then read to me." He said shutting his eyes.
Read to him...?I've never read to someone before.
But at least he's interested.
"Okay how about this one?" I hold the one about the princess up to show him he opens one eye peering at it for a minute then shutting it again.
"Aren't I suppose to learn from books?" He snickers a bit
" well not all of them some books are just meant to make you feel good" I say opening it to the first page while sitting next to Natsu getting under the covers.Opening the front page, I started readying out loud hoping Natsu will enjoy.
He just closed his eyes listening to me.Normal POV
About an hour went by,Natsu opened his eyes realizing he must have dozed off.
He sat up looking to his right, Lucy had fallen asleep with the book still in her hand.
She looked so peaceful.
Natsu caught himself just staring at her, he blushed a bit realizing what he was doing.
He gently grabbed the book from her hand quietly getting off the bed putting the book on the side table. He glanced down looking at her again. He couldn't look away.
She looked so amazing and beautiful.
Something stirred in Natsu, deep in his gut.
His heart starting beating faster,Natsu, confused of course, could feel his face heat up quickly.
He soon rushed out of the front door to get outside. Quickly walking to a tree landing a swift and firm punch to it.Nastu put his hand on his chest feeling his heartbeat.
'What the hell is wrong with me?' Natsu
thoughts raced through this mind.
He didn't understand this new feeling, which angered him more and more.He gave the same tree another punch with a flamed fist, this time having the power to make it go flying knocking down a few other trees as it flew.
Natsu was angry and confused which always came out as violence with him.He soon spent hours letting out his anger till the early morning.
