Speaking with Adam

"Hey Taylor!" Adam calls into her apartment as he unlocks the door. Taylor is in her room with a pen and paper in hand.

"You forgot your phone when you left," she states blankly.

"I'm aware," he says as he enters he room and kisses her forehead. "What are you writing?"

"New album," she mumbles in reply.

"New album? I though you were on break. We talked about this. You need some time off."

"This is what I want to do. I've already had an interview at a radio station. I talked about the album. It's too late to back out now. Anyways, how was your trip?"

"It was tiring. I'm probably going to go to sleep right away unless you need me," Adam states.

"Well actually, I kind of need to talk to you. It could wait until the morning, but I prefer it doesn't. I looked on your phone while you were gone. I'm sorry about that, but I'm glad I did. I know about you cheating."

"Taylor, just hang on. I'll explain that in a minute, but I just wanted to say one thing. Happy birthday..." Adam dropped down on one knee and pulled out a ring. "Will you marry me?"

Taylor was astonished that he would ask such a question after she just found out about him cheating. "Only if you explain the cheating first. Then I'll decide," Taylor said after a few moments.

"It was at a party. Ellie and I were both drunk, we weren't thinking straight. She didn't know it was a one time only sort of thing. She didn't know it was an accident. I never dated her. She was the one who told my friend. That's why he thought I might date Ellie instead. Do you forgive me?"

"I guess I forgive you. You better not be lying," Taylor warned.

"I'm not lying. I would never lie to you. Now, will you marry me?"

"For now. Let's see how you behave," Taylor joked.
