Release Me

Release me,
I've been held captive for years,
At one time salt water constantly ran from my eyes,
But my ducts ran dry,
I've run out of tears,

Release me,
This anchor holds me down,
An ocean of fear surrounds me,
I have lost all my strength from pulling away from the current,
Now the current is pulling me in,
I'm about to drown,

Release me,
I'm caught in the center of a ring of fire,
The smoke is burning my eyes,
Hot fumes damaging my lungs,
My skin is melting,
So is my good will and desire,

Release me,
Just like a dog I am trapped in a cage,
My collar is tight,
It makes it hard to breathe,
A shock is sent through my body whenever I try to leave,
I may not rot in here, but I age,

Release me,
I'm lost in a dark room,
There's a crack under the door,
A shimmer of light shines through,
The man on the other side tells me if I ask for his help, I can escape,
He says I am his bride,
He can clothe me in white,
Because he is the groom,

He released me.
