Brent's POV

It's been a long day, I was exhausted from my body, my molecules getting twisted and turned all sorts of ways as I was transported through the time machine. I was pitying myself over this terrible transporting device when I pricked my finger on a thorn. I sighed at the sharp pain, at least it brought me to reality... er as much reality as could be given to a time traveler from 2013. I had been in the time traveling business since I was kidnapped by the government on Christmas Eve when I was just sixteen. Ever since that day I had spent my life in and out of the dreadful machine. You start your training in this dreadful place called 'The Mier', it wasn't all that great but... what else can you do? You can't run away.

~Flash back

The air was cold and the night was long, I wished for sleep but I knew it wouldn't come. Not in this place, I looked around the dark tunnel in the subway. It smelled strongly of urine and I wondered how my sister could have lived down here so long. A subway train sped by me and nearly made me spin circles I was so close to it. I coughed as the full smell of the place hit me as I continued on. Sleep would come to me when I find the place she slept.

I woke the next morning with a yawn, the smell of urine hit my nose again. I felt filthy... I wished I was back at my mother's, but I remembered bitterly. She had been shot in front of me... no... my throat tightened up and I shivered, again cold. I had to get out of this place. I jumped up to my feet and started running out of the abandoned tunnel. I wiped a tear from my eye and looked around to make sure no one was watching. I hopped over the wired tracks and pull myself onto the stage. I walked into the subway bathroom and wetted my hair and arms before toweling it off with a paper towel. I was clean of the nasty smell. I jogged off onto the street looking around.

'I have to find her' I told myself.

'No, it's too dangerous.' my other side told me, but I had to find out what happened to my sister. She wasn't in the subway so where else can she be? She wasn't around here that was for sure. I turned down an alley to look down it. That's when a woman came my way.

"Hey" she purred at me, her lipstick shining in the new sunlight. I felt bad for her, she probably hadn't chosen this life but hard times would bring her into the dark side of life. I wouldn't disrespect her like the other men.

"Hello." I replied and removed her hand from my chest, I gave her a polite smile. "Can you help me?" I asked her gently but I had an urgency in my tone.

She smirked and let her hand run just inside my shirt, I moved away from her touch as she said in an obviously fake southern accent," Anything, sugar." she purred in my ear and tugged gently at it. I moved her hand away.

"Have you seen a lady around her named Angel? She's my sister, she's around 5'7, blonde, blue eyed..." I stopped as I saw she wasn't watching me at all, but my lips. I sighed as she licked her lips. She was of no use to me.

"There's a lot of angel's around here, sugar" the lady giggled lightly. She didn't know why me finding my sister was so important to finding. I needed to find her as soon as possible.

That's when I saw her, she looked to me with wide eyes and shot off running, why would she run from me? She looked so afraid. That's when the hands met my lips and I was shoved backwards into a van. These cops didn't look like they were about to read off my rights. "Where am I?" I asked and to my embarrassment, my voice cracked with fright. The cops just smiled at me with an all knowing grin. Before I knew where I was, we were in pitch black darkness. The smell of bleach hit my nose. Todo, we aren't in Kansas anymore.
