Chapter 2

The third period is about to start and the players skate back on the ice. I see Mike speaking to his teammates trying to encourage them. They were down by two and needed to score. They go to their positions and the period starts. Mike gets the puck immediately and passes to George Peterson. Peterson  skates down the rink fast, but not until Stephen Azron from the Bruins checks him into the boards. The Bruins are in control again, they almost score, but Lucas Noweznic saves the puck. Noweznic  passes it to Mike. He's about to pass it to Daniel Berezin, but is checked into the boards hard by Jonathon Antos. Mike falls hard to the ground. I stand up in fear . The crowd goes silent. Players rush around him. He is still not moving. I am in a panic now I am beginning to cry, he moves slightly. The referees motion for the medic. I feel like I am going to faint now.

"Please be alright please." I say softly

The medic comes on the ice and looks over Mike,he motions for a stretcher. I am screaming now and everybody is looking and staring at me,but I do not care the only person I care about right now is Mike. They put Mike on the stretcher and walk him off the ice. I rush from my seat up the aisles to the main door. I run around back to where the ambulances are. I see the medics loading him in the back of the ambulance. I run over to the ambulance crying hysterically. All the medics do is nod their heads and help me into the back ambulance. I am by Mike's side, now crying and I say,

"Mike can you hear me please Mike do something so I know you're alright."

Mike half opens his eyes and places his hand on mine. I begin to calm down. We arrive at the hospital only after 5 minutes of driving. I am the first to get out of the ambulance. They unload Mike and rush into the hospital. I follow eagerly trying to keep up. A nurse then stops me in my tracks,

"I am sorry ma'am but you have to stay back here."

"But I am his wife please let me go."

"I am sorry but I can't do that."

        "Please."

"I am sorry if you please wait here we'll let you know later."

I nod my head and sit down in the nearest chair. I begin hysterically crying again. Thinking the worst.
