Cold Case 4.1 (My version)

A new friend

I walked out of my last class of the day. I saw Cam and Neil at my locker talking to each other. I shook my head and opened it ignoring them.




"Jessie come on....lets talk." Cam said




I rolled my eyes "I dont have anything to say"




I pushed past Cam and Neil after tossing my books in my locker. I walked toward the bus stop and saw Dayton in his car.




He smiled and I turned and walked over.




"Hey....This is weird but can I get a ride?" I asked




He nodded "Sure"




I hopped in and he drove out of the parking lot "Are you okay?"




I jumped seeing he was watching me "Yeah why?"




He shrugged "You didnt seem there at school.....you didnt even talk really."




I rolled my eyes "Nobody to talk to."




He paused "How bout Cam and Neil?"




I looked at him "Why do you want to know?"




He sighed and pulled to the side of the road "Because I do....listen you dont wanna talk about it then fine. You need someone though."




I paused "Dayton I'm okay."




He sighed "No your not."




"Why do you care?" I asked "All I did was ask for a ride, you dont have to talk to me" I hissed




He bit his bottom lip "Fine"




I nodded as he started the car. We drove in silence.




"Why the sudden interest in me?" I asked as we were heading past the neighbourhood park.




He came to a stop "Because your different. From any girl in our school."




I rolled my eyes "Yeah thats what all guys say when they wanna get into your pants."




He sighed "I'm serious, you say everything like it is, you stick up for yourself"




I nodded "Thanks"




He sighed "So where are your parents?"




I scoffed "I wish I knew, their either at work or someones house at a party."




He bit his lip "I'm sorry"




I shrugged "It's okay."




He started to drive again nearing my house.




He pulled into the driveway and I looked over at him "Do you wanna come in?"




He paused "Uh no thanks I have to get home"




I nodded "okay"




I stood and Dayton called me.




"Hey Jessie.....do you wanna like..carpool? I mean your house is on the way to school." He asked




I smiled "Sure....and thanks......."




He smirked "Your welcome."
