One more day till Olivia's birthday! I am so excited. She doesn't know that we are going to do a surprise party for her. Well, it wouldn't make much sense if she did. I get out of bed and put my cozy sweatshirt on. I walk down the stairs to find Hannah asleep on the sofa. I laugh to myself. I look for a blanket. I put a soft grey one on her and tuck her in. She looks so pretty when she sleeps, that sounded really creepy.
I search for the remote control. I haven't really watched TV on this one but all of the kids say that the channels are great. I take advantage of being the only one awake and put a random channel on. It's the news. I like the news, it's interesting. I remember me, Olivia, my dad and my mum all used to watch the news together just before I went to bed. I tear drips down my cold face. I must not think about those things.

About an hour later, I hear Olivia get up. The floor boards in this care home are really creaky. She comes down the stairs with bags under her eyes. She looks extremely tired. "Good morning Zoë! How did you sleep?" She mumbles with her eyes barely open. "I slept well... What about you? You look exhausted!" I ask. She looks up at me. "Oh I had a bit of a bad night but never mind!" I could feel that she was hiding something from me. I hate it when people hide things from me, especially the people that I love.
