AU where the first thing your soulmate says is on your wrist

It's been a very bad day for the female ghoul. She was desperate on finding her soulmate. But no; the world hated her too much that they won't even allow her to meet her soulmate even once. Once.

"The world hates me.." [Name] grumbled, pulling the pillow she was holding closer to her face.

"Don't say that, [name]-chan."

"That's not making me feel better. It was easy to find your soulmate!" She spat harshly to the male ghoul beside her. Kaneki doesn't reply, only frowning at her.

"I... I'm sorry. I had a very bad day, a human almost saw me when I was having lunch," she says, exasperated.

Kaneki perked up, "Hey, I don't know if this'll help, but my best friend is coming over for lunch tomorrow. He still hasn't found his soulmate."

"A human? Kaneki, you know that I don't do humans," [name] deadpanned, her face held a blank expression as she looked the opposite way.

"O-Okay. I just thought it was worth a try.."

[Name] sighs for what seemed like the umpteenth time of the day, and it was only afternoon!

The bell rang throughout the silent shop, indicating that someone had entered the humble home of the ghouls.

"Good afternoon, sir!" The [eye color] eyed girl greets the customer. A fake smile was plastered on her face as she looks into the eyes of the person.

[Name] led the boy to a table and handed him a menu, "I'll be back in a few minutes, sir. Then I'll be taking your or--"

The boy cuts her off, saying, "Wait! No, stay.."

Kaneki, who was watching them both in the counter, smiled charmingly. "Don't worry, [name]-chan! I'll cover for you as long as you like!" He beams, glancing at his best friend with a knowing glint in his eyes.

After that, [name] and her supposedly customer just stared into each other's eyes; taking in their presence.

"Um..." [Name] really didn't know what to say. For fuck's sake, her soulmate was in front of her!

"Hideyoshi Nagachika! Call me Hide!" The smile on his face matched the sun which made [name's] heart melt.

"[Full name]. Nice to meet you, Hide."

From that day on, they met up at the shop, when [name] had a break or when she had a day off they went to parks together.

The starting of their relationship may be rough, but they both hope it'll work in the end.
