The life changing surprise

My birthday was coming up in a week the only present I get is 1 less chore that day. I have never gotten an actual present. Hopefully my mom will get my something, after all I'm turning 11.

1 week later

It is my birthday today and I already know what is going to happen. It has been the same way for 6 years now. After school I came home and I saw a rainbow striped kite sitting on the counter. Mom was actually home and she said "  I found this kite in the trash, I hope you like it."
Like it I love it this is the first birthday present I have ever gotten. Too bad I would never have time to use it, but then mom said " You have 1 hour to play with it. Then finish your chores".

So then a ran outside and tried to get the kite to fly and it did it flew I was so happy but after 20 minutes I was bored. Then while I was reeling the kite in something happened that changed my life forever.
