You know what they say, "Life is hard when you have 20 shows to watch."

The name's Naomi, my friends. Just your typical lazy lass.

Part 1: Slacker

I just graduated college. It was supposed to be one of the greatest feelings in the world, but somehow, I felt like I was too old, too late, to complete my degree. Took me five years to finish my course. It was really difficult, kidding, I was a slacker, and not to mention, lazy.

Two special studies I had during my college years. One thesis conducted.

"What took you so long to finish college, Naomi?" asked a high school acquaintance.

"Well, you know how mycology is so hard," I replied truthfully. "So, it ain't an easy job."

"I'm sorry what? What's that?"

"The study of fungi."

"Anyway, Jenna finished her course in time. She studied astrophysics."

"Well, it's not my fault the laboratory does not provide me with sufficient materials to finish my special cases and thesis," and that was how I'd always blame the lab for not generating enough materials. Truth is, they did. I just didn't like working.

And, who's Jenna?

Part 2: Procrastinator

Aside from being a slacker, I was a procrastinator at the same time. It depends on the work done. There is a difference between the two. Slackers just avoid working while procrastinators are a lot better. They do not avoid work, they just delay it.

A week after graduation, my dear grandma called me. She could have just used the internet advantage to Skype call me. Now, she'd wasted cash, asking me what my plans were for the future.

"Well, you know, grandma, I am gonna be searching for jobs next week. Then, inquire a uni because I am going to business school."

Business school? Shut up, Naomi. Business school?

"That is very good, Naomi. I am so proud of you."

Days later, mother called me, "Naomi, why don't you apply for med school, dear? I mean you took biology for a reason. You can do it!"

No, mom! I studied biology because my high school crush said she was going to take up biology! Also, because I didn't know what to study, so why not go along with the choice of my crush (who turned out studying English Literature, what a dick!).

Also, I couldn't just go to a med school. I was broke! Aside from being broke, I wasn't that bright.

There were medical terms that I did not understand. There physiological processes that I couldn't comprehend immediately.

Going to business school was my only ticket to a successful career. I didn't even like business. But my dad kept mentioning it, and also wanting me to go for it even though I had no idea what to do about it. But at least it's not as difficult as medicine. Also, I find people in suits appealing.

Part 3: Layla

After graduation and after meeting Layla, while slacking off and procrastinating, I began watching several TV shows. Not 20 though, but more like 13. Thirteen TV shows: 12 American and 1 Hindi.

Layla actually suggested this Hindi TV show, Tu Mera Hero (In English, "You Are My Hero"). It's pretty funny and colorful.

So, who's Layla? Oh, well, she's my hermit friend. But, at least, she has a job as a pharmacist and earns actual cash. Unlike me, who used to sleep and wake up on the same day, doing nothing but watch TV shows!
