"Dearest Layla,

"Do you know how much I admire you? The way you talk, you walk, and move is the best thing I have ever seen. You are like a reincarnation of my ideal girlfriend. Seriously, though, I mean I never thought about it at first, but later I realized how much of a beauty you are in and out.

"The things I see in you, they are the reasons I have a crush on you. I have seen you in your worst and best attitude. You are rude and kind in the right way. You are unbelievably smart. Though you may be talentless, you are skilled anyway.

"Ugh, yes, Dr Jordan is hot. I know. Her body is amazing! We could've hit it off right away. I also heard she's a surfer, but everything, everything, everything just all leads to you, Layla. Even if you take a shit, you're exhausted, you are mad, you still manage to be beautiful.

"Ha-ha, I honestly thought you were a vegan. I met a vegan once. He was always mad. And I thought vegans get angry all the time. You were rude to me the first day we officially met, and rude the next day when you served me veggies, giving me the idea you were vegan. Great, now I have actually thought of going vegan because of you.

"Although there is one thing I dislike about you, you idolize white male singers who can strum guitar strings and get popular out of their looks. Ugh. I thought you had class in you? Go back listening to The Weather Girls.

"Still, who am I to judge you music taste? You are a bright, young female scientist, making a difference in this world. You know what you want. You know what you need. You know what to do. You are confident and that is what I love about you."

This was what I had in mind as I saw Layla's face. I was going to tell her that I was starting to have feelings. It was serious shit. She only said, "Hi, let's go home." She was tired and barely gave me smile.

We head to her vehicle, got in, and Layla started the engine.

"Lolly, I..." I was really going to say it.

"Hmmm?" She said in a sweet tone and briefly looked at me.

"Lolly, I want to tell you something," I started, taking a deep breath.

"Go ahead," she smiled and looked at me again.

"Lolly, I have just begun feeling thi---"

"Wait," she interrupted, looking at a distant location. "Is that Dr Erin Jordan?"

I looked to where Layla was looking and spotted Dr Jordan, walking in a criss-cross manner while holding a bottle of beer, heading to a hardware store.

"She's drunk, we should help her get home," Layla said, looking worried so she parked her vehicle at the store's lot and we both got out to talk to Dr Jordan.

"Erin!" Layla called, but Dr. Jordan only continued to pace. "Erin!"

"Lolly, she may be super drunk," I suggested.

Dr Jordan threw the bottle away and entered the hardware store while I instantly remembered that I ought to purchase two of the gears for my diabolic plan.

I ran inside, leaving Layla behind and instantly spotted Dr Jordan who was now looking through garden tools, squinting and conspicuously pointing them one by one.

"Dr Jordan," I said as I poked her shoulder. She looked over to me right away.

"Miss Hernandez!" She greeted me with enthusiasm and gave me a very tight hug.

"I, uh, okay. Hello." I replied awkwardly.

"Miss Hernandez, you are so adorable," she pinched my cheeks and briefly kissed me on the lips.
