Papyrus linked his arm through mine and
we opened the doors that lead to the actual dance. It was beautiful. They're was a plastic chandelier meant to look like crystal. The lighting was dimmed slightly. It was dark enough to be elegant, but light enough to still allow everyone to see. We walked down a set of stairs into the ball. I gasped in awe and looked around at the beautiful scenery. Classical music echoed throughout the room. Teens from 14 to 19 years old were scattered around. Most of the guys wore suits. Some girls had party dresses while others had more elegant ones on. A few girls even wore suits themselves. Papyrus grabbed my hand. I looked at him and smiled, a blush creeping onto my face. "It's so beautiful." I said, gazing once more.

"Not as beautiful as you." He winked. I covered my face with my hands to keep my deep blush from showing. He took my hand and pulled me into the middle of the room. We looked to see as a live band set up. "I should warn you, I'm not the best at dancing." He admitted rather embarrassed.

"Oh, don't worry about it, darling. Just follow my lead." I said flirtatiously. I grabbed his right hand and held it with my left. I took his left hand and placed it on my shoulder. I placed my free hand on his hip. "Now, 1, 2, 3, and 1, 2, 3,..." I repeated as I showed him the steps. "Back, then left, then front, then right. Now, back, left, front, right. 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3," I looked up at his face. He was looking at his feet carefully as we moved.

"I...I think I got it." He looked up.

"Good." I laughed, then kissed him on the nose. He blushed. We looked into eachother's eyes. The routine slowly becoming less robotic and more smooth. I smiled at him. "You're pretty good at this, Papyrus." He smiled and laughed.

"Guess I'm a fast learner." We both smiled and danced to the music. We continued our dance until the music stopped and someone grabbed a microphone. We both turned to the person with the mic.

"Hey, hey, hey! Alright, people are you ready to pump up this party?" Everyone looked around, bewildered. "I said, 'are you ready to pump up this party?!'"

"Yeah!" People screamed. Papyrus seemed very puzzled.

"Just roll with it." I whispered to him and giggled.

"Alright!" The guy continued. "We have a special guest right here!" He pointed to a girl who had semi-short grey hair. She wore an ocean blue gown with a mermaid style train on the end. She looks familiar... "This is Shyren! And she's gonna sing for you tonight!"

"Woohoo!" I cheered! Papyrus looked over at me and cheered too. I could see the girl blush; it was either out of fear or the cheers already for her. The lighting adjusted to fit the more modern mood of the piano that had started playing. I had recognized the song immediately.

Papyrus and I, along with a bunch of other teens smiled at the song. We all danced like the crazy teens we were; we even sang along with Shyren during the chorus.

"I'm weird! I'm weird" We all shouted.

"And I hope that she likes it, I hope she don't mind that" Shyren sang beautifully.

"I'm weird! I'm weird!"

"And I hope that she likes it! I hope she don't hate that I'm weird...I'm weird!" Her voice was soft and angelic. She sang the song perfectly. We danced along letting ourselves be free. I felt happier than I've felt in months. Papyrus smiled at me. A smile that was pure, genuine happiness. Those smiles were rare, and it made me even happier to see him so happy. By the end of the song, Papyrus and I had gotten a table. We sat down, still smiling.

"Well, this is certainly not what I expected." I laughed a bit.

"Nyeh heh... I could certainly say the same. It's a good kind of uncertainty though."
