Now Arriving

"Sans?!" I searched around the airport. It was December 29, almost New Years. Mettaton was busy with something, so we hadn't hung out much since Christmas. The kids were with me, as I had no one to watch them. "Sans? Where are you?" I called out again. It was just me, and two children, at an airport, looking for my brother and his girlfriend. "Sans?" I called out louder.

"Paps?" I heard a distant call.

"Sans? Is that you?!" I headed towards the call.

"Paps! Bro, I'm over here!" I kept heading towards my brother's voice. I searched over the crowd to find him. Once I spotted him, I picked up the kids, and started running towards him. "Paps!" He greeted once I caught up to him. He opened his arms to hug me. I put the kids down, and picked up my tiny, older brother.

"I'm so glad to see you, brother!" I said to him, genuinely meaning it.

"Glad to...see ya too, Paps...but, I...can't....breath." Whoops. I put him down as he gasped for air.

"Where's Toriel?" Frisk asked Sans. Despite the age gap between the two, they were about the same size.

"Tori's at the shop getting some water." Sans nodded to a small shop, where I recognized a woman in a royal purple dress. She walked over to us, with two bottles of water in her hands. Her lilac purple hijab was slightly less neat as it usually was.

"Toriel!" The kids yelled excitedly. Toriel handed the waters over to Sans, then kneeled down to hug the kids.

"Oh! I'm so happy to see you!" She laughed as she hugged them tightly.

"You should have seen Tori on that plane." Sans laughed.

"Sans." Toriel warned.

"She was passed out asleep after less than an hour." He chuckled.

"Saaaaaans." She warned again, sounding embarrassed.

"Aww, but, Tori you were so adorable." Sans smiled.

"Sans, you're embarrassing me!" Toriel complained. She blushed deeply. Sans put a hand on top of Toriel's head to tilt it up, then gave her a kiss on her forehead. Toriel blushed even more.

Toriel stood up off the ground as Sans handed her one of the bottles. "So, Papyrus," she opened the bottle of water, "how's everything with Mettaton going?" She took a sip of the water.

"Oh, it's going pretty good. We, uh, hit a minor ruff patch." Toriel looked concerned, but Sans...Sans looked angry. "But we're past it now! We're all good." I smiled. Toriel's expression was relived, while Sans still bore an expression of slight anger.

"Well, as long as you're both happy." Toriel clasped her hands together and smiled.

"Sans, are you okay?" I asked him. He blinked and looked up at me.

"Wha-?"

"I asked if you're alright." I stated, cautiously.

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine, bro. Don't worry 'bout me." He seemed off, but I decided to worry about it later. They grabbed their suitcases, I grabbed the kids, and we headed out to their car. I buckled in the kids, while Sans tossed the suitcases in the back.

We started driving back home. Sans drove, Toriel rode shotgun, and I had to cram in the back with two kids. When we got home, Toriel seemed ready to fall asleep. They got their bags in, and I insisted that they sit down to rest a bit, while I make dinner.

The water was boiling, and I noticed the two asleep, leaning on each other, on the sofa. Aww, they look so peaceful. I went back in the kitchen and dumped in the noodles.

As I was finishing the pasta, Toriel sleepily walked into the kitchen. "Hello, Papyrus." She yawned.

"Hello, Toriel." I greeted, bringing the pot over to a strainer.

"Where are the kids?" She asked mid-yawn.

"They're playing up in my room." I drained the noodles from the water.

"Ah, thank you, Papyrus." She smiled, starting to head out of the doorway.

"Dinner is almost done." I put a pat of butter into the noodles. "Why don't you take a seat? I'll get the kids." I smiled.

"Thank you, Papyrus. That's very kind." She gave me a smile as she sat down at the kitchen table. I let the butter melt, and headed into the living room. Sans was lazily plopped on the couch. How does he fall asleep everywhere? I climbed the stairs and knocked on the door to my room.

"Kids, it's time for dinner." I smiled with my eyes closed. "Kids?" I asked when I got no response. My smile faded and my eyes opened. The room was empty. No children were in sight. "Children?" I asked, wearily. "This isn't very funny." I entered the room. "Frisk? Ch-Chara?" I was so nervous. I looked under the bed. "If you're hiding...it's not funny." I felt a chill in the room. My back was to the closet when I heard a spring bounce, and a weight pull down my back. "AAAAH" I yelled, trying to maintain my balance. I wobbled trying to balance myself and the hundred something pound weight on my back, which I could only guess was a child. I then saw a purple blur tumble out of the bottom drawer of my nightstand. Frisk. Frisk jumped on the bed and tried to pull down the weight of almost identical measure. I now had to balance myself and the over two hundred pounds on my back. I fell backwards, tripped, and landed on the bed. Both masses on either side of me.

"Chara!" Frisk complained. "I told you this was a bad idea."

"Lighten up, Frisk!" Chara replied. "No one got hurt!"

My only response was a groan of annoyance. "It's dinner time." I said, getting up and leaving the room. I saw Sans and Toriel sitting at the table, as I plated the spaghetti. The kids came down as I brought everyone's food to the table. We had a nice meal and started planning our New Year's Eve party.
