DIPPER

That morning, the Grunks decided that they had to go see everyone in town, leaving Mabel and I to our own devices as Soos ran the shop. We unpacked our suitcases and decided that if anything, we'd go into the woods and try to find the next journal. After lunch, Mabel got a shower and I got dressed, grabbing the fourth journal and putting it in my messenger bag. She came out and grabbed the camera, and shook her head to spray me with a wave of wet-hair-water. I grumbled and she laughed as we ran downstairs.

The woods was almost exactly the same as before. We knew all the trees like old friends as we explored. But we couldn't find that damn journal. We walked for at least three hours, searching, and never finding.

"D-Dip we should go back." Mabel mumbled, and I frowned.

"I think we're just looking too hard. Let's find a place to sit and we can relax for a bit and eat the sandwiches Soos packed us. Okay? Then we'll head back." I said, looking around again, frowning even deeper.

Where are we?

"Dipper which way is back?" She asks, and I wince. "D-Dipper?"

"It's okay Mabel, I know the shack is east of us. Let's relax and walk east. If anything we'll Google our position and-"

"Dipper I don't have service!"

"Then we'll walk until we do!" I say quickly, noticing how she was starting to panic. I hugged her quickly. "Cmon. You'll feel better after some sandwiches." She nods and whimpers as we begin walking in search of a clearing. I didn't recognize any of this...

Finally, we came upon a clearing that seemed... Almost familiar. I searched my mind, trying to remember where I'd seen it. I came up empty.

"D-Dipper..." Mabel whispered suddenly, her voice terrified.

"Hm?" I mumbled, trying to step carefully through the foliage.

"Th-This is where- oh my god, Dipper this is where-" I glance back at her, and suddenly, my leg came in contact with something cold, straight and solid. My body fell forward, and there was a crack.

Mabel screamed, and that cold straight solid thing became warm malleable and fleshy. I landed roughly on the ground, and turned my body to see what she was screaming at.

I twisted my whole torso and watched in horror. There was nothing I could do to stop it. The world was going to end, and it was all my fault.

His black arm formed first, becoming flesh slowly, followed by his body. One yellow inch became flesh and bones as life was breathed into his triangular form. His tie became fabric. His legs moved. The moss fell off him like dead skin. His eye cracked and blinked rapidly. His hat twisted and became that endless black. He opened his eye wide.

And then he screamed.

"Wha- Who- Where am I! Who are you?" He yelled in a much too familiar voice. I picked up a rock and gave a primal battle cry as I brought it down at him.

"Dipper WAIT!" Mabel yelled, and practically tackled me to the side. I groaned and pushed her off, trying to attack the cowering triangle again, fury engulfing my senses. "Wait! He's not attacking!" She yelled, then turned to Bill. He looked terrified, and I had to admit, a small psychotic part of me loved seeing that fear instilled in his eye. "Who are you?" She snapped, and he stuttered.

"I-I-I d-don't k-know!"

"I do. Your name is Bill Cipher and I'm going to-" Mabel covered my mouth and looked at him sympathetically.

"My brother is right. Your name is Bill Cipher. H-How do you feel?" She asked.

"Mabel- stop trying to-" She further smothered me, focused on the time demon.

"I-I-I... I f-feel stiff.... I hurt... And I'm tired... I-I feel like I... Like I've been asleep for eons.... But like I haven't actually rested..." He whispered, and Mabel frowned gently.

"That's to be expected, Bill. It's okay. You were cursed. Are you hungry?" She asked, and I watched in horror as she grabbed my bag and pulled out her sandwich. He hesitantly nodded, and she unwrapped one triangle and handed it to him. He held it in his hands as though he didn't know what to do with it.

"You eat it. Like this." She said, smiling as she took a bite of her sandwich and chewed. I scoffed as the idiot tried pushing the sandwich below his eye. "N-No, y-your mouth is your eye..." She whispered uncomfortably.

I reached into my bag and clasped my hand around my pepper spray. He finally had managed to figure out how to take a bite and was in the process of chewing.

When he swallows... Three... Two..

"Dipper, eat up." Mabel snapped, glaring at me and at my hand. I frowned at her, and she narrowed her eyes as if to say "Listen to me."

"I'm older." I squinted back.

"I'm smarter," her eyes growled.

"Not by a long shot." My rolling eyes said. I switched my hand from my pepper spray to my sandwich and pulled it out, unwrapping it and eating slowly as I glared at the demon.

"Th-Thank you, M-Mabel..." Bill whispered, and she jerked, revealing just how stressed and scared she was.

"How did you know my name?" She snapped. He squeaked and jerked in fear much like she had.

"H-He said it!" He gasped, and I growled as he looked at me. Another squeak escaped him.

"O-Oh, right, s-sorry.." She laughed, her face burning. "Bill, let's get you home. Okay?" She said, grabbing her bag.

"Excuse me?" I snapped, and she glared at me again. I backed down as she gently and cautiously picked Bill up, carrying him like a teddy bear.

"East... Where's east...." She mumbled.

"Oh! This way!" Bill said excitedly, pointing off the way we had came. We both frowned at him, and below his eye turned orange like he was blushing. "I-I know this for some reason... I do not mean to intrude..." He whispers, and we both start walking.

What the fuck are you up to, Mabel....
