All of the other information you have sent regarding Earth seems bleak. A barren desert that covers the planet? Seas that have turned black and are filled with rubble?
Speaking of, rubble usually means something had to fall... like a civilization. And if there is scarcely any plant life left on Earth--like you said in your reports--and if there are also ruins scattered about, your enemy must be intelligent.
