Scarlet had to act like a neighbor so she appeared as a 30 year old woman who had called the ambulance and police. The ambulance and two police cars pulled up with a screech after 15 minutes. The cops jumped out of the car with their guns held up as they busted open the door. "This is the police! On the ground!" one cop yelled. They found the scene in the backroom. The paramedics quickly rushed in and loaded Alexis on one stretcher with a breathing mask and her mother on the other. They hand cuffed the father and threw him in the backseat of the police car as they loaded Alexis's mother in the ambulance. The paramedics called out a helicopter for Alexis. She wasn't responding at all and was hardly breathing. Every once in a while she'd cough up a little blood. The ambulance drove away as a helicopter hovered to the pavement. Alexis was placed in the helicopter. It took an hour and a half for her to get to the nearest children's hospital.
They were finally there. Alexis was ran in to the emergency room. The paramedic spoke to the lady at the desk "This is Alexis Smith, she is 11 years old, and this is the second time she has been here for abuse." she nodded and sent them to a room full of doctors and machines. Alexis was hooked to an oxygen machine. The doctor picked out a shard of glass with tweezers from the gash on her cheek. He then stitched up the wound with 16 stitches. He put two stitches on the cut on the corner of her eye. He examined her forehead which was shades of blue, brown, and purple. They immediately put ice on it and he checked out her stomach. Her stomach was a dark violet purple. The doctor looked very worried. He looked up at the nurse and spoke "Nurse Emily, this doesn't look too good." she gave a sympathetic expression and answered "Okay we'll do an ultrasound to see if anything is messed up in there." the doctor nodded. Nurse Emily rubbed the cool blue gel on Alexis's bruised stomach and placed the monitor on it. Luckily, nothing was torn up. "This poor girl did not do anything to deserve this." the nurse said. The doctor sighed "Well, some people are just really sick creatures." Alexis was still barely breathing. One lung is shut down and her heart is beating at an abnormal rate. Alexis's grandmother walked in and slammed her hand onto her mouth. "My baby! My poor little girl! Wha- What happened to her?!" The nurse and doctor looked at eachother and the nurse spoke "Your granddaughter was in a...a..an accident." "I don't believe it. What kind of 'accident'?" the grandmother said. Then the doctor spoke, "Abuse, Mrs.Smith. Abuse by her parents." she just stared but didn't speak. "Will-Will she live?" her grandmother asked. "We aren't sure yet but we are taking good care of her." They found out the next day that Alexis would live. She was an inch close to dying.
