-Chapter 6-

The bar was almost like a pub, the entrance through the left wall of the dining hall. The actual bar was to the right of the entrance, along the entire right wall. There were booths around the edges and circular tables surrounded by chairs crammed into the room. Let’s just say that this was the most popular part of the castle.

I moved to a stool at the bar and perched on it shakily. I was so tired and hungry. I really needed blood but I wanted to calm my nerves first. Plus, I needed to try and enhance my powers a little. Alcohol enhances my powers making it easier for me to read minds and see the future. Right at the moment, I just wanted a little help to make sure that things in the future were going to be okay. Just for a little while.

Sylvia sat beside me and let me just look around for a few moments and familiarise myself with the surroundings. It was empty except for a guy behind the bar placing a spirit bottle upside down in one of the wall holders. I couldn’t recognise him just from his short, spiky, jet black hair and his black shirt. But I could see the large muscles working underneath the short sleeves of his shirt as he fitted the bottle. Sylvia laughed lightly at my face of wonder. The guy turned and jumped slightly as he heard the first sign that he was no longer alone in here. His face was clean cut and…and…well he was just plain gorgeous, what else can I say? He had almost black eyes, perfectly shaped eyebrows, high cheekbones and his lips…I just wanted to snog him. I have to have him, I told myself. But not right now.

“What would you like?” Sylvia asked me with a huge grin plastered on her face. I kneed her gently under the bar and tried to send a flirtatious smile in the bartenders direction.

“I think I see what I want.” I spoke softly and suggestively. The bartenders lips parted in a soft smile revealing a set of perfect pearly whites.

But then he had to go and ruin it by opening his mouth to speak. “Sorry, but I can’t serve you yet cos we aren’t actually open.” seriously? Did he not know who we were? And did he not know that the law against under age drinking had been slightly adjusted in my favour? It was now that Survivors and Guardians could drink and buy alcohol as they liked from the age of fourteen. I was a Princess anyway. If a shop wasn’t open when I wanted it to be, I would just tell them to open it and they would. Definitely one of the perks of being royal.

“And?” I said to the bartender simply.

“Sorry, but I can’t serve you.” we were still staring at each other with smiles on our faces except mine was now the I’m-a-Princess-so-just-get-on-and-give-me-what-I-want-now-or-else smile instead of the flirtatious one.

He still wasn’t getting it though. Honestly? The one time I want someone to recognise me and they don’t recognise me and they won’t do what I want them to do! How unreasonable?
