Love in a friendship

Chapter 6 - First vlog

Joey's POV:

A few days had passed and each day felt like so much more effort having to vlog with Cat, my "girlfriend". My manager was right, it was bringing in the more subscribers, and it WILL help me with my future in LA, but every night I lay there in my bed wondering if its all really worth it?

Today, I have planned a day out with (........), it has felt like forever that I haven't seen her. I need to make it up to her! Shall I buy her lunch? A drink? Or just a gift, all girls like gifts, right? 

Your POV:

Today the heat had increased so much higher than the normal LA weather, which meant that the office at work was ten times hotter than normal. Working in a local vets was great, I get to see all these animals every day, but I feel like I could do more than sit in an office everyday being bossed around by a bitch of a boss. 

The only thing that was keeping me going was, that I was seeing Joey after my morning shift, and that we were going to hang out after the awkward encounter the previous week. I constantly looked up at the clock, watching the minute hand slowly go around and stop at exactly lunchtime, the end of my shift (12 o'clock). 

Joey's POV:

I pulled up outside where she worked, and waiting in Satsuki, with the windows wide open and the air conditioning on full volume. This was a great opportunity to pull out my vlogging camera, and let my subscribers meet one of my new good friends. 

"Hello there. So, it's frickin hot today, and I'm sitting here in Satsuki waiting for my friend, (..........). I don't think you guys have met her before, so when she gets out you will get to see her ugly face... JK, JK."

I put the vlogging camera down in my lap, and looked over, and saw that (........) was headed towards the car with a big smile on her face, and her hair blowing in the small amount of breeze that blew. 

"Hey girl" I smiled, whilst she made herself comfortable in the passenger seat. "I'm going to get my vlogging camera out now, and today if that's ok with you?" 

"Hey, yeah sure" She replied nervously

I pulled out my camera again, and continued with the vlog. 

"So guys, I am now joined with (......)" I said whilst quickly turning the camera to her face

"Hi" She waved and smiled

"We are off to get something to eat, because I'm a hungry boy, and then probably just hang out and do something after that" 

"We should go to the beach, as its so hot!" (.....) exclaimed 

"Let's do it!" 

I put the camera down, and (.......) started to giggle. 

"What?" I asked

"You're so crazy when you're vlogging" She grinned

"Shoot girl, that's who I really am, and you haven't seen that yet" 

"Well, I guess I need to get to know you better, which means we need to hang out more, boy" She winked

"Ok"

Our first destination was, a small cafe opposite the beach, which neither of us had been to before, but as a healthy option we both orded chicken salads, and water, which quickly disappeared.

We soon after managed to arrive at the beach, and it was packed with burnt and very brown people, who just laid in the sun with their little umbrella's propped up next to them, which gave them no shade at all. Thankfully in this heat, both me and (..........) had shorts and vests on, otherwise I think we would have both suffered in the heat. 

We headed straight to the water, and took off our flip flops and paddled in the water, kicking each other with the salty water and laughing at each other because of how stupid we probably looked to the other people on the beach. 

"I haven't been to the beach in such a long time" (........) huffed as we sat down in the hot sand, after giving up the water fight

"Really? But you are here in LA, its always such a perfect day to come to the beach!

"I know, but I'm always working, and don't have that many friends to hang out with, I haven't lived here my whole life" 

Our covnersation went on, long enough to realise that in the distance the sun was setting behind the sea line. Time flies when we seem to hang around with each other. 

"We better head on home, I'll give you a lift" I said helping her up off the ground

"Thanks" 

Your POV:

On the way home, Joey had turned the radio up loud in the car, and all these crazy songs we were listening we thought the best thing to do was to sing and dance along to them. I thought, Joey's subscribers have got to see this, so I grabbed his vlogging camera and started recording him sing and dance to, Lady Gaga's song Bad Romance. 

With the camera in his face he continued to dance and act crazy, but laugh whilst he was doing it. 

"Here give me the camera and let me record you" He laughed whilst taking the camera from my hands, when we had stopped outside my flat

Awkwardly, I thought I should play along and join in with the dancing and singing. As loudly as I could I sang along to the song, and danced in a similar crazy fashion as Joey. 

"HAHAHAHA!" Joey laughed loudly and put the vlogging camera away

"Well that was fun" I smiled looking at Joeys bright red face, where he had been laughing so much

"Yep" 

"So, I guess I'll see you soon then"

"Sure will"

"Bye" I said whilst clambring out of the car

I headed into my flat,and ran to the window to watch him pull away in his car. He saw me and waved goodbye whilst pulling away from the curb. 

Being his friend, feels so much better than being his girlfriend right now, and I wouldn't change it for the world!
