Alexis' POV
I slowly opened my droopy eyes to see Harry still fast asleep. He's so hot when he's sleeping. His soft snores were filling the room in a nice way. Just as I was about to brush a curl away from his forehead, he woke up.
"Good morning," he whispered. His voice was husky, making him seem even hotter than he already was.
"Morning," I smiled back.
Harry turned over and slowly crawled out of bed, turning the lamp on. I was just laying there when I remembered the cut. I shoved my arm under the covers to keep the mark hidden from Harry.
"Alexis," Harry started.
"Yeah?" I was panicking on the inside. What if he saw the cut? What if he asks how I got it? What if he makes me tell him about my dad?
So many things were going through my head when he finally spoke, "How did you get that cut on your arm? I saw it last night while you were sleeping." he looked worried.
I was fighting back my tears. I couldn't cry. Not now. "I....uh.....cut it on a piece of metal. My dad was a welder..." I didn't sound very convincing.
His eyes softened, "Alexis, you can tell me anything."
I sighed in defeat. "My dad....he..." I couldn't hold them in anymore. The tears were streaming down my face. My vision blurring from all the crying.
Harry walked over to me and pulled me into his chest. "Shh," he whispered. "It's going to be okay." He rubbed my back soothingly.
"He cut my arm because I questioned him," I cried harder.
"It's okay. I'll make some tea and you can tell me what happened." He stood up from the bed and walked out of the room to make the tea.
I wiped away the tears on my cheeks and followed Harry into the kitchen. Once I turned the corner into the kitchen, I sat down on one of the stools in front of the small island. I looked up into his sparkling green eyes. They were filled with worry.
I let out a breathe I hadn't realized I was holding in. "Do you really want to know?" I asked him. Staring deeply into his eyes.
"Yes..." he seemed a little unsure, but that didn't matter.
"Okay.....It started when I was 10..." I cringed at the thought of having to retell the whole story.
"You can do it Alexis. I'm all ears," he said smiling.
"When I was 10, my mother died in a car crash, leaving me and my father alone. My dad was heartbroken. Instead of getting help to cope with the loss of my mom, he started to break things. It would scare me so I would hide in my room. One day he got really pissed at me for hiding away in my room while he was upset so he started hitting me..." I welcomed the tears pouring down my face. I needed this. I haven't cried in forever. It felt good.
"I'm so sorry," Harry's eyes were glossy and you could tell he was holding back tears.
"It's alright. There's nothing you could have done to help me," I gave him a weak smile and told him everything else. I told him how the beatings got worse everyday and how my dad would forget to feed me because he would always come home drunk. I told him how I managed to get out and why my dad cut my arm.
When I finished, Harry had a sympathetic look on his face. "Please never go back there Alexis," his cheeks stained with tears. "You can stay here with me. I'll keep you safe. Just promise me, you'll never go back there. No matter what." He looked dead serious.
"......I promise," I answered hesitantly.
Once we finished our tea, Harry brought me over to the living room and we watched tv until 7. The day went by surprisingly fast. We got up off of the couch and walked into Harry's room. I curled up into his chest, his hand rested on the small of my back. We soon fell asleep in each others arms. I never wanted this to end...
