::chapter four-all of the stars::
ok, so flying isn't quite impossible nor an exaggeration when you're rushing to meet someone. I have been clumsy all the way to the hospital, quite embarrassing to be honest, and an example of that is when I tripped over the stairs of the hospital, slightly stumbling while Kaiden the Greek God is behind me, I probably also flashed my knickers on the process.
"Emily" Dani sniffed on my shoulder, hugging me like a pillow, which I gladly returned. I couldn't imagine this day coming, when he breaks down completely. "I can't bear to lose my mom.." I sighed.
"hey hey, neither can I.. calm down, I'm sure she's pretty much beating the sleep black and blue over there" I comforted him. "you need to calm down baby" I rub my hands on his back in circular motion. He's so vulnerable and I would do everything just to not see him like this ever again.
I felt his head lift up and advert his attention to Kaiden behind me. He sighed. "and who are you supposed to be?" I sighed, shifting on my seat uncomfortably. "I'm Dani. Her bestEST friend" he nods at Kaiden but Kai didn't seem too intimated by Dani.
I mean, Kaiden is like a literal lobster with his tan and muscles. If I was I guy, I would be intimidated by him.
"Kaiden." And with that he sat down on one of the cold metal benches in the waiting area. I didn't think he would stay with me after making the effort of giving me a ride.
"Er, Dani, Kaiden is my new neighbor now, Unfortunately." Kaiden chuckled.
"Unfortunately? You're one lucky girl to be neighbors with me, Emily" he winks. "Imagine, you're free to come over anytime to do the-" I shut him up.
"ok." I rolled my eyes. "Don't want to hear it" Dani laughed.
"You both are too adorable" he cooed. "I believe one of you will fancy the other by the end of the year. I'll even bet my whole savings account." he chuckled. My cheeks immediately heat up. Kaiden frowns.
"Definitely not" we both spat in unison. But that only gave Dani the satisfaction of annoying us both.
"You can go home if you like Kaiden, I can manage... I think" I mumbled.
"So you're getting rid of me now?" He chuckled at me but stood up and walked away to his car-probably.
Both of you are really adorable" he jokes. "You know what? I like the guy, not in a bisexual manner but he is very easy to annoy, and the only thing is that he is very intimidating. I hate it" he cringed. I laughed.
"He sure is very intimidating, that I give you, but I believe that we are anything but 'adorable'" I just met him a while ago when I tipped over my ice cream and it smudged all over his shirt and turns out he's our new neighbor." I sighed. "very unfortunate. Don't you think?" he laughs.
"By unfortunate, you meant 'so-lucky-that-I-might-end-up-praying-so-hard-because-I-desperately-need-to-kabadonk-him-because-he's-too-good-looking', then yeah, you're very unfortunate." he chuckled. I cringe inwardly.
"Disgusting. Don't even think about it Dani" I laughed and leaned back. He leans back with me. "My life's pretty complicated now you know,my mom and stuff... but I don't want to talk about it because I don't want to fill you up with more stress." I sighed.
He hugs me and cuddles up with me. "You know what? Let's forget about the world for a bit. Let's forget that my mom's fighting for her life in there, let's forget that you're stressed out because of your mom, let's forget that the world exists. Just be with me for a bit and exit this world" he sighs and kisses my head. "It's only going to tear our happiness up baby girl.. just, forget it all for now" I hummed.
I tried to do as he said but the thought Kaiden appeared in my head. Great, now he's in my mind. I mean those eyes are worth melting for-not.
"Are you lesbian or something?" he spoke out of the blue. I gasped and thwacked his chest.
"No you idiot. I'm straight as a grown men's Penny board" he throws his head back in laughter. "an erect one, FYI mister" I winked at him.
"Very straight then" he chuckled. He yawned causing my own to trigger. "Hey let's sleep. We need as much energy as we can for tomorrow." He snuggled up to me. "Can you stay in here with me?" he pleaded.
"As long as you sing to me first" I sighed and leaned back on his chest, his body swallowing me whole. "All of the stars please" He chuckled.
"again?" he laughs. "ok. Fine loser. Your worth everything you ask from me anyways.. and more." he yawned.
"thank you" he hums as a respond.
"It's just another night
And I'm staring at the moon
I saw a shooting star
And thought of you
I sang a lullaby
By the waterside and knew

I'm miles away from seeing you
I can see the stars

I wonder, do you see them, too? " he sang beautifully as my eyes led me to a dreamless sleep.
"I won't forgive myself if you fall for that Kaiden kid." was the last thing I heard before letting slumber take over me.
