Ch 4: Love and Pictures

Recap:

I got hugs and compliments from all of my brothers. Memories were passed between the four of us; none of us looked anywhere else except at each other. I noticed Aaron didn’t even take a glance at Tori, which meant he hadn’t really seen her yet. We were all wrapped up in each other and our last moments as true siblings before I adopted a new last name and, in a way, a new identity.

               I whispered to Aaron. “You haven’t really seen Tori yet, have you?” Aaron, almost imperceptibly, shook his head. I quickly thought of a plan to either distract my other brothers, or tell them exactly what I wanted to happen. Either way, I was going to get them out to give Aaron and Tori time alone.

“Hey, why don’t we get started on pictures? I want a picture with each person alone. Everyone, follow me out. Well, everyone except Aaron and Tori.” I winked at Aaron.

               I got agreements from everyone. And they all cast amused looks at the two people in the room that were blushing at their names. As we headed out, I turned around and saw Tori looping her arms around Aaron’s neck, smiling; he had eyes only for her.

Tori's POV

“Well, everyone except Aaron and Tori,” Claire said. I blushed as everyone in the room agreed and cast amused looks at Aaron and I. Aaron seemed not to notice, though he did blush, and I blushed even more under his gaze. Aaron started walking over to me, and I towards him; we met halfway. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he placed his hands on top of my hips and moments later, I heard the door shut.

“We’re alone,” I whispered. Aaron nodded and smiled. He maneuvered his right hand around to the small of my back and drew me closer to him.

“You look gorgeous, Tori, absolutely stunning.”  He looked straight into my eyes as he whispered, leaning his forehead against mine. I closed my eyes and smiled, savoring the moment.

               I opened my eyes and before I could even whisper a mumbled ‘thank you,’ he had taken his left hand off of my waist, tilted my chin up, leaned down, and kissed me slowly. He had—quite effectively—shut me up. I closed my eyes in surprise and contentment while his right arm pulled me even closer, and I knotted one of my hands in his hair as the kiss deepened. I could feel him smiling through the kiss so I smiled right back and I knew he could feel it. I felt his left hand trace my jaw and slide down my neck and he rested it on my neck so I slid my left hand down from around his neck and placed it on his chest. I pushed away slightly and we broke apart. He kissed the top of my head and rested his forehead, once again, against mine.

“I’ve been waiting for that all morning,” Aaron smiled at me.

I smiled, cocked my head, and replied back, “I know, so have I.” We both laughed.

“Did I mention you look beautiful?” Aaron asked me.

“Maybe . . . but it doesn’t hurt to say it again, handsome,” I said, lightly biting my lip and looking up at him.

“Hmmmm . . . I guess I’ll say it again then . . . You look beautiful.”

“Thank you,” I kissed him on his neck, just below his jaw, and then again on the cheek, “And you look very handsome.” I tugged on his tie. He followed the pull and kissed me on the lips again. I pulled back before it deepened too much.

“Come on, let’s head out to the others and take pictures.” I kissed him quickly once more on the lips and I flattened the hair on the back of his head and grabbed his hand, entwining our fingers. Aaron snuck in another quick kiss behind my ear and whispered “I love you” as we headed out the door.

Claire's POV

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the door open and Aaron and Tori—hands entwined—came outside.  They looked very happy. I smiled even more for my picture with Jake. I took a formal picture with Jake then a fun one, like I had with Greg. Jake picked me up, one hand under my knees, the other around my waist; I kissed him on the cheek. When the pictures of the two of us were done, I walked over to Aaron and Tori.

“Took you two long enough. Happy now?” I teased. They both blushed.

“Yes, we are, or, at least I am.” Aaron looked to Tori and she nodded at his unspoken question asking if she was happy too. “I got to tell my girlfriend that she looked wonderful. And I got to do that without everyone watching us. So, yes, I am happy.”

“Good,” I smiled. “Now, I’m taking pictures with Allie, then both Jake and Allie, then we’re going to add Zoe, and then I’ll take pictures with you. Got it?” Aaron nodded.

               The three of us went back over to everyone else. I finished taking pictures with Jake, Allie, and Zoe. Now it was time for Aaron. Aaron came over and we took a formal picture and then a fun one like I did with everyone else. He whispered his idea to me and I agreed. I hopped onto his back as if he was giving me a piggy-back ride and we both looked at each other and stuck our tongues out at the camera. Aaron was about to walk away, but I pulled him back. I wanted one more picture—a very special one—so I explained what I wanted to do. It took six words.

“Hold me like you used to,” I whispered to him.

               Aaron took off his suit coat, shoes, and socks (so he was just in his shirt, vest, and pants) and sat on the grass outside of the church and stretched his legs and bare feet in front of him. I took off my shoes, gave my flowers to Tori, and sat on one side of his legs. I draped my legs across his and then brought my knees up so my bare feet were just on the other side of his legs. I leaned my knees into his chest and laid my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.

               This was our picture.

               This was our moment.
