Recap:
“I love you both. May you love each other forever. To Levi and Claire.”
“To Levi and Claire,” our guests repeated yet again. Levi and I toasted each other and shared a quick kiss.
“I must say I’m looking forward to having Aaron, and his interruptions, absent from our honeymoon,” Levi chuckled.
“So am I,” I kissed him quickly. “Well, that and a few other things,” I whispered into his ear, bringing a smile to his lips, and, as I kissed him once again, I could hear, and feel, an “mmhmm” come from him.
A wolf whistle startled us from our moment. Levi and I broke our kiss and turned around to face the rest of the table to find both Greg and Aaron grinning from ear to ear, at least, until Tori and Amber smacked their boyfriend and husband, respectively, upside the head, sending Levi and I into laughter. Our laughter was quickly echoed by the rest of the people at our table—including Aaron and Greg after they wiped the shocked expressions from their faces.

We continued talking for a while, enjoying each others’ company. But soon Levi and I decided to make our rounds and talk with the other guests since the night was going to be ending soon. For the next hour Levi and I walked and talked with the guests—never leaving each others’ sides. We danced some more and talked some more and, all too soon, it was time for Levi and I to leave.
“Come on everyone grab your bags of rice and confetti; let’s give these two newlyweds a send-off to remember,” Jake said into the mic.
Everyone followed his directions, smiling. Levi and I walked to the back of the line while our family and closest friends went to the front. As Levi and I walked down the aisle of people, hands laced together, rice and confetti cascaded around us. We reached our family at the end with tears in their eyes and smiles on their faces. Levi received handshakes and a few hugs and I was gathered into the arms of all of the women. The goodbyes were short and, moments later, Levi and I walked into the hotel’s foyer to head home to gather our stuff and take one final picture before going up to Grand Lake.
A short twenty-minute drive later we arrived at the home Levi grew up in, and inherited, and opened the door. We stepped inside and I felt this extreme joy that this was now officially my home too.
“Welcome home, sexy,” Levi said, leaning down to kiss me. Before our lips met, there was a knock on the door. “That better not be Aaron,” Levi sighed, making me giggle. He opened the door and we were greeted by Dennis.
“Hope I’m not interrupting, you two told me to follow for this last photo,” Dennis apologized.
“You’re fine Dennis. Let’s do this so we can head off to Grand Lake,” I smiled.
“I’m ready whenever you are,” Dennis said, adjusting his camera for the low light.
Wordlessly, Levi walked a few steps down our hallway while I stayed close to the door. He leaned up against one of the walls and beckoned me over to him. As I drew within reaching distance, he grabbed my hand and quickly pulled me in front of him. I immediately melted into him as he snaked his hands around to rest on my hips while I braced mine against the wall above his head. Levi grinned at me then leaned his head in to kiss me and I quickly closed that small distance.
“Did you get the shot, Dennis?” Levi asked as we broke our kiss, a few moments later. When we heard no reply, Levi and I both turned in the direction that Dennis was supposed to be standing and found that spot empty. He had taken the picture and then left us to begin our honeymoon in peace.
“Ready to?—wow,” Levi began while I walked down the stairs after changing into a lacey white tank top and jean shorts. He was making no effort in hiding his roaming eyes as he checked me out.
“You were saying?” I grinned, encircling his neck with my arms. He cleared his throat and pulled me closer to him, eyeing me. I could easily see the love—and longing—that matched my own as he met my eyes, so I kissed him long and hard.
“Are you ready to go?” He asked between kissing me. I nodded as his kisses moved along my jaw. I moved my hands from his neck and brought them to grab the two of his that were wrapped around me and interlocked our fingers as he dropped his hands from my waist. We both paused, slightly out of breath, an unspoken agreement to head to the rented cabin in Grand Lake passing between us.
Two hours later, only 10:30, still early in our night, Levi and I walked onto the porch at the cabin we rented on the more remote side of the lake, hands laced together. Levi turned me to face him, grabbing my other hand in his and leaning his forehead against mine. The two of us stayed like that for just a few moments before Levi chose to speak.
“I love you, Claire” Levi breathed.
I barely had time to say “I love you, too” before he moved two fingers up to my chin and brought my lips to his. Our chaste kiss quickly became more passionate as Levi pushed me against the wall and, moments later, I wrapped my legs around his waist. Holding me, he opened the front door and took us inside—never letting go of my lips. We pulled apart for a moment just inside the door, my legs still fastened around his waist; he grinned and I smiled back, kicking the door shut.
